So I used to be a big Fitbit fan but now that I have had the 2nd Fitbit One malfunction in a year. I'm wondering what everyone else is using and obviously I don't want to spend anymore than I have to. I really liked the One because I didn't have to wear it on my wrist. Does anyone know of a good alternative that does not have to be worn on the wrist? I have a very small wrist and they normally don't fit correctly and I sometimes like to "hold on" while using the treadmill :sad2:.
Pretty much done with Fitbit!

My first One lasted two and a half years. The second was just replaced under warranty. They were very nice about sending a replacement. The Ones are no longer sold in stores, however.

I also have a FitBit Charge HR which I use only when actively exercising and want to see the time and my heartrate. Otherwise I prefer the clip-on FitBit One. I hope FitBit comes out with something else the same size and shape - bring back the One!

I recently got the Fitbit Zip. Although it's probably considered entry level because it's the cheapest, it's the only Fitbit (that I am aware of) that you can change the battery. BIG DEAL for me. My daughter and I have had a variety of more "advanced" Fitbits and have found them expensive and lacking, and then you're supposed to throw the thing away when the battery dies. I LOVE my Zip. I can wear it at my waist or on my bra strap or in a pocket . . . and if I wanted, Amazon has wristbands for the Zip hardware. It also syncs with the diet app I'm using. It measures distance, steps, calories burned, minutes of sustained movement, probably other things but steps and calories, and minutes are my main focus.

I have a Garmin Vivofit that I bought on Amazon in June 2016 for $50. It's still going strong- I did have to replace the band though. The device can be easily popped out and you wouldn't have to use a band; my DH hates wearing a band and keeps his in his pocket (although he has a different device - a fitbit 1 that he has to charge up).

FitBit Blaze. Got it in 2015 for either my birthday or our anniversary and love the heck out of it. It's always on my wrist and only needs to get charged every 5 to 6 days with my usage. It's connected to my phone for easy updates and I use Achievement app to get rewards. (They're really, really, REALLY small rewards...I set it and forget it. At some point I'll have enough for a reward. :) )

I've had multiple FitBit's over the years with great success. As long as I can charge it, I'm happy.

Another Fitbit fan here. My Fibit Charge lasted 11 months and started producing a "bubble" on the strap around the battery area. Turns out the battery was swelling and Fitbit was very good about replacing it. In fact I had a choice of replacing the same model for free (which was no longer being sold), or upgrading it for 50% off whatever I wanted. I know that does not sound great, having the battery swell on a product not even a year old, but I had other Fitbits in the past and that was the first time I had an issue.

I ended up going with the Fitbit Charge HR. Love it!

Now my daughter wants one and my son wants a Fitbit Blaze.

What kind of issues are you having with your One? Have you tried a reset? Contacted Fitbit?

I’m a Fitbit junkie. I have or have owned: Zip, Alta, Charge HR, Charge 2 and the Flex 2. Other than the occasional technical difficultly (usually due to too many Bluetooth things all going at once) I have never had any issues with my Fitbits. I’m not gentle with them either. Even the Charge HR that is known to have band issues is running strong after two years. I passed it down to my sister who is way harder than am on gadgets and still no issues. I know they exist, I have a friend who’s had hers replaced three times but it just hasn’t been my experience.

Anyway, the Flex 2 can be worn in a bangle, a pendant or a third party clip for your waist. It’s waterproof and tough. With the holidays coming you’d be able to score one for a decent price.

I just got a Garmin Forerunner 25. It is a fitness tracker on everyday wear and will track activities including walking/running, cycling, and swimming. It is a watch and I know you don't want a wrist wearer, but it has a normal watch band with a buckle; unlike the fit bits that only have a few choices for size. It connects via bluetooth to my iPhone and will send me notifications for calls, emails, and texts while my phone blue tooth is on. I have it set to talk to my fitness pal and I really like it better than the fit bit because it only subtracts calories for activities, not for your everyday steps like fit bit did, which made me feel like i was cheating my calories if I followed their suggestion. For everything it does, it was $115 or so on amazon.

My Fitbit One does not hold a charge for more than 2 days. I have contacted Fitbit twice and have received no resolution other than its a known issue, just wait and see if we can get our engineers to figure it out. It also seems to have synching issues. The Fitbit One has been discontinued which leads me to believe they arent really in a big rush to get the problem resolved since its been going on for weeks. I could deal with recharging every few days but it also will have a full battery in the morning and by early afternoon will just shut off because the battery is dead. So half of the day I will be walking and my steps arent being recording so there is no point in even wearing it if it will just randomly go dead.

I have the Fitbit Blaze. I love it. My husband likes his Garmin Vivofit 3. No problems with either.
