OT: President Reagan passes away

A marvelous man. My absolute favorite President. We have lost a great American. May God bless him and his family.

Sad news indeed, but I take solace in knowing that he is finally relieved of the anguish of Alzheimer's disease.

I met him and got to shake his hand in Chicago and it was a firm handshake and he took time to look me in the eye and say "glad to meet you" and you know I know he was.Prayer's for his family he was a special person who I have missed since his illness.

Knowing about the terror of Alzheimer's disease,
Thank god he is at peace now!

Whether you agree or disagree his politics, he was accessible. I remember him giving press conference after press conference. He didn't let others do it for him. I always admired him for that. These days, the press secretary and their staff does all of that work. I see why they call him the great communicator. RIP.

Same for Nancy. People were hard on her during the presidency, but I can't think of anyone with more class than her. She stood by his side for almost ten years while her husband's Alzheimers intensified. An amazing woman.

President Reagan was a great President and a great American. He has my deepest gratitude for the contributions he made to America and to the world.

He was once asked what he wanted to be remembered for. His response was that he wanted to be remembered as a President who helped Americans believe in themselves. Indeed, this is how I will remember him. May he rest in peace in the Lord's care.

I was born in 1977 and President Reagan shaped my definition of the President. I was too little to be aware of President Carter, so President Reagan, to me, represents everything a president should be. His kindness, coupled with his strength and determination to lead America and help make the world a better place for its citizens, glimmered in his eyes. For me, no President has embodied President Reagan's spirit. I've been a supporter of both President Bushes, but no one has measured up to President Reagan. I hope that someday we will have a leader with the same grace, courage, and style as President Reagan and his beautiful wife.

Was he in any Disney movies? If so, perhaps those movies could be pulled out and shown at Downtown Disney for awhile.

Alas none of us is immortal, but it was too bad he suffered with Alzheimer's for so long.

What the U.S. needs is smaller government, which Ronald Reagan did try to push along with tax cuts.

May he rest in peace

President Reagan was a true American and a wonderful person
he gave our country so much in the way of self confidence

i still remember vividly the day he was shot and i was so relieved that he was okay and able to lead us

I admire Nancy for all she is and for sticking by him in what must have been some horrible times the last 10 years with his illness

May our country someday again be led by such a person with such integrity

RIP Mr. President
and God Speed

We heard the news at the end of our Recital rehearsal yesterday. The dance studio owner's husband wasn't going to sing with his daughter and that made the decision for him. He sang with her "God Bless the USA" last night as part of the Finale. The EmCee also made a comment about his passing.

He was not in any Disney movies, but he was one of the hosts of the Disneyland Grand Opening TV special (Dateline: Disneyland) which is available on DVD in the Walt Disney Treasures collection. There is a clip from that show of Mr. Reagan introducing Walt Disney in the video loop at the '50s Prime Time Cafe. He is also featured in the final montage of The American Adventure at Epcot and (of course) in the Hall of Presidents.
