OT - Port Huron shopping

I'm thinking of hopping over to Port Huron this weekend for a spot of cross border shopping (figures the dollar takes a dive right NOW!).

Can somebody recommend a nice mall or something to go to? I'm really looking for a Hallmark store or two as well.

There is the Birchwood Mall. You would turn right off the bridge onto Pine Grove Ave and continue following it until you come to the mall. It's about 10 - 15 minutes. Not sure if it has a Hallmark store. I think it is the only mall in Port Huron. It's not a really big mall so you may want to consider going a little further. I don't do alot of shopping over there but I know there is an outlet mall somewhere not too far - Birch Run and there is a big mall in Utica which also isn't that far from Port Huron.

If you have time you may want to venture over to the north end of Detroit and go to Great Lakes Crossing. It takes about 75 minutes to get there from Port Huron but it is an easy drive. It is massive and has everything you could ever want! www.greatlakescrossing.com for maps and store listings
If your hubby or any other guys are going you can leave them in the Bass Pro Shop and hit the mall alone!
We go there every November for Christmas shopping (8 women) and get the majority of our shopping done in two days!

If you plan to stay in Port Huron ~ then I would go to Birchwood also. It has a Target and there is a Meijer's and Walmart across the road and down a bit.
There is also TJ Maxx and other great stores along the same stretch.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. We have to stick around the Port Huron area since I have to be back in the Toronto area by 6 pm. I hope our dollar goes up tomorrow!!
