OT: POC3 - Last Scene Question

Good Morning:

After a bout of insomnia last night, I watch Pirates 3 again and am still confused as to what exactly happened to Will & Elizabeth.

I search the web and found conflicting answers:
1) Delete scene stated that if Elizabeth stayed faithful to Will for the 10 years, he would be released
2) The original curse holds forever, 1 day on land for 10 years at sea.

And now that POC 4 is official, how does that impact the story line as this reunion occurs 10 years in the future. Is POC 4 during those 10 years (i.e., find fountain of youth and does it apply to Elizabeth?)

The rumor that I heard I while back was that Will and Elizabeth won't be in Pirates 4, so if that's the case then their story won't change.

The only official thing I heard about the end of Pirates 3 was that only the things you actually see on screen are considered true, so that would mean the curse was not broken.

Personally, though, I prefer the idea that it was broken and that they stayed together after the end of the movie.

I have never seen what happened during the credits. All I saw of "Will" and "Elizabeth" was after their "fun" on the beach and him saying goodbye and giving her the chest with his heart in it. Did something else happen? I was so upset that as soon as the credits started to roll I shut it off. Please tell me!!!!

After the credits: Elizabeth and an approx. 9-10 year old boy (their son) walk to the the edge of a cliff at the ocean and stare out to see a flash of light and Will appear on the Flying Dutchman. I assume it was 10 years later after their Good-Bye on the beach and it was his 1 day at land to be with Elizabeth and meet his son.

Thank you. I was not happy about the ending. I shut it off and went to bed very upset. I know that it is more romantic that he sees Elizabeth once every 10 years than not at all, but..............I would have preferred them to be together all the time

I hated that ending too. I mean if she can't join him until she dies, and only then if she dies at sea, she'll be all old and shriveled and he'll still be all young and hot!! What's so romantic about being in love with someone you can never be with? It's tragic. It's like Romeo and Juliet all over again.

There's an extra scene at the end of all three of the movies, just in case you didn't know.

I hope the next movie goes back in time and focuses on just WHAT EXACTLY was the "mark" that Jack Sparrow left on my bizarro-land crush, Lord Cutler Beckett????? (sorry to the actor if you're googling yourself, for saying it would be bizarre)

I was hoping he got to come back too but like they said...gotta have a captain!

Also I am glad that the 4th movie will be about jack, he's the man! Will and Elizabeth's story has played out...especially if the curse was never broken.
