I have an interview today at 4:30 for my dream job as a vet tech they need someone right away... my problem is , I leave next Wed. till the Monday so 5 full days , for my Disney trip. Do I tell him that in the interview or do I tell him about the trip only if I get hired? What is proper

I would see how the interview goes, and then explain you have a trip booked - near the end of the interview.
You don't want to go in announcing it, but I think if it's a pretty quick hire they will most likely be willing to work with you.
Good luck! I hope you get it.

Tough one. I was in a similar situation but my vacation was months from the start date. I was completely honest and got the job.

Good luck!

I've conducted tons of interviews and the best advice is to always be honest. Most people usually need two weeks to give notice etc. so starting in a week won't likely be an issue.

My sister's a vet and you'd be amazed at what she'll do to keep her outstanding staff members happy. Besides she's a big Disney fan and she'd probably want to go too!:rotfl:

Good luck!

Thank you guys! I plan on being honest just was not sure when in the interview I bring it up! He has had the ad out for a mnth and says start right away, which I can I just need 5 days off next week 2 of them being weekend days ack I am nervous now, I dont want to not get it cause I am going away:(

At the end of the interview, when they ask if there's anything you would like to add. (and you have a good feeling about the position) make a note that you have pre-existing plans for a family trip to the World for 5 days... and that it's too late to modify the plans, but you hope that won't be an inconvenience..

No one will make you miss a trip to Disney.. unless they are someone you don't want to work for anyway :)

Just want to thank you all who replied... soooo... I went to the interview it was good :) He told me to come back in Friday to start, to follow the tech around for the day and see what goes on, I assume that means he wants me and wants me to see how things operate! After he told me that I said oh ya :/ next Wed till the Monday I am off to Disney I hope that is not a problem I am really sorry but it was already booked. He looks at me says NO PROBLEM and wrote the dates down told the vet tech aswell and said you go hang out with goofy that will not be a problem :) I appoligized and told him other then now we only go away once a year and that is in May to Disney and that thats all the holidays I will need yearly! So guess I am hired thanks again for your quick replies:worship:
