I have thought about it, but that just isn't possible because a lot of people would have to travel up for certain days anyway, and some can't move dates around, so it just doesn't seem possible. Plus, I just wanted one year where I didn't have to move my birthday around everyone else. The celebration wouldn't be on my birthday, it would be the Saturday after, but its the only way any of this can work.....

My mother is now saying to just go ahead and have a party without them, but I really don't feel like I can..... To be honest, it's looking like I shall have to scrap party ideas....

Just a thought, could you not have your party as planned, then have something small and equally special with your aunt and uncle when they're available?

Not 2 full size parties, so you avoid the problems of everybody having to travel, but at least you can celebrate with most people and can then have a belated (or even an early) celebration with your aunt and uncle... At least that way you can make the best of an otherwise bad situation.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest ~ the party as planned and maybe a nice meal out with your aunt and uncle?

I do feel for you though, a 21st is a very special occasion and I can see why you're upset.

Not really Rob.... Its really awkward because my family is really small and we always get together once around Christmas time, and then because of Robert's family coming up too, and having to visit Barnsley at Christmas, etc etc, there's not much chance for anything else. It is looking like it's gonna have to be ditched. I don't really want a 'party' thats just little few of my family, I do want them all there, especially because I'm probs not gonna be at home for new year which is the other time my family get together....

I know its selfish, but I just wanted a birthday when they were all there for once. Without having to swap everything round.....
