OT: Packing For The Hospital

after 2 c sections I always brought my own pajamas and slippers and pads;the long over-nite ones with the wings by always-they were great! Also bring your own shower gel and body lotion-maybe you should stop at victoria's secret or bath and body works-they both carry a large selection of the liter fragrances;but that's really something you'll want to have! And bring all your own toiletries-the ones the hospital supply are gross! Oh-and a tube of desitin or A&D. The nurses aren't allowed to apply any cream with an active ingredient to the baby's bottom without a M.D. order-and my youngest came home from the hospital with a rash on his butt from 1 nite in the nursery! I wanted to get some rest as I knew that I was going home the next day and I let them keep kim! I was ready to kill those nurse's-and I am a nurse! I hope you have a great delivery and all is well with your new baby! God Bless and good luck!

Everything sounds good...

I do have to laugh a bit though...I remember when I had my first, I did the same thing. I tried to think of everything for what ended up being only a 36 hour stay. I really didn't need much. Of course you need clothes for the baby and a carseat/carrier, but other than that...it is all sorta fluff.

For the second baby. My water broke 5 1/2 weeks early at 3am and I was not prepared. I didn't bring anything with me. I needed a emergency c-section and stayed 4 night. I really didn't need anything, really!! My DD was so small all of my newborn stuff never fit her (my first was 10lbs 5oz) I was expecting another BIG one.:rotfl:

In a pinch you can always have someone bring something to you.

I guess what I am trying to say is don't stress over it. You will be fine if you think of everything, and you will be fine if things don't go according to your plans. Enjoy the simplicity of it. It all goes by so fast. Stop and smell the roses.

Oh, but don't forget the camera!!!!! You will want to capture your babies first minutes and days. Those are some of my best pictures!

Good luck....and try to relax and enjoy!:grouphug:
