:scared1: rather you then me.

Yes - sometimes I honestly wonder why I started this degree as my job doesn't need it and I'm not planning on moving.

But - I've enjoyed it really and it's taught me a lot of useful things so I'm glad I've done it over all.

There are beaches in Newcastle?

.

We live about 15 mins outside of Newcastle on the North East coast. The Northumberland coastline imo is one of the most beautiful in the country :lovestruc We often spend mornings at the beach as the girls love it and it was even warm enough to paddle today :goodvibes We went rockpool rambling yesterday with wellies and DD1 loved seeing all the little crabs, shrimps and fish :goodvibes Before we moved back 'home', we lived in the East Midlands for 8 years and I missed the water/beaches etc more than ever with being well 'inland', so we make good use of it now :thumbsup2 I wouldn't want to be anywhere else

Its always a good thing to have extra life skills.:thumbsup2

UKStitch - I have to say, I couldn't be bothered proof reading all that - what I used to do was proof read a chapter as a wrote it - prob not the best advice though as not sure what it read as a whole - I got a First though so it couldn't have been that bad :rotfl2:

I'm certainly not looking forward to it, but I wanted to just get it finished. I'll probably do a little at a time - try to take the laptop to work and read some on the bus etc...

I got a first for my BSc and I'm currently on course for a distinction this time (it's an MSc) so I need to make sure I've done it well as this is worth a huge amount of my degree (this one 16,500 essay is about 25% of my entire degree marks :scared1:)

You'll be fine Rob. I used to be the same, putting it off all the time. Good luck:thumbsup2

What makes you think I wouldnt understand it :rotfl:

ok let's find out... Here's a random selection of sentences from my report so we'll see how much you understand ;)

"The input method of the GUI interface is limiting because it requires the user to be able to see the locations of the icons, windows and menus on the screen in order to know where to place the pointing device"

"For visually impaired users, speech recognition has the most potential for allowing them to use a computer in a similar way to a user with normal sight capabilities"

"The main deliverable of this stage is the application to be provided to users for analysis purposes"

"The main problem with using existing screen readers from a development point of view is that there are a number of different screen readers available, all of which work in a slightly different way "

On a related note, can anybody tell from the above sentences what my project and degree is all about (ignoring the fact that I've given a huge clue in my other post) :lmao:

I think these sentences give a reasonable guideline why I hate proof reading it - it's quite a technical piece of work so it's quite slow reading.

The end is in sight Rob - hope you are planning to celebrate when you finish

Yes I'm planning a few things. I suspect that as you're still down here the day I finish that I'll try and meet up with you and DD after my demonstration for a meal somewhere nice, then I'll probably go for another meal with my family once you've gone back (maybe at the weekend). I'm also hoping to break open some kind of alcohol in celebration though I think I might save champagne for when I get the results.

Cocktails? - I seem to remember that you owe me one from last year :rolleyes1

You should have kept quiet about that - I'd forgotten :lmao:

Now you've reminded me though, I distinctly remember it was you who owed me the cocktail :rotfl:

No Im sure you're wrong - it was you who owed me. You're obviously getting confused in your old age :rotfl:

Sounds like a good plan there for your birthday Rob, I like birthdays that go on and on and on .......

Glad to hear your feeling better , you didnt have Swine Flu did you?

No food poisoning. I think I have become immune to Swine Flu as I have dealt with many patients who have it but I have never caught it. My aunt has had it though
