1st off ~ I'm the "Disney nut - Park-goer expert" in the family; however, next week we are going to Dollywood with the entire family (in-laws and such). There will be a 2 year old and a 5 month old going with us. Any advice on what to pack or what they will allow you to take in? We're doing the water park one day and the park one day.

I've bought the 02 Cool caribiner mister fans. I've got kid size ponchos. I've got sunscreen and a BIG bottle of Aleve:lmao: Any other advice?

2nd ~ On the Samantha Brown special about Disney at Christmas, she mentions ordering a little Christmas tree for your room that can be shipped home, do they still do this? If so, how is the tree decorated, prices, pictures, and where to order them would be helpful.

Thanks, Karen

We will be in Dollywood for July 4th. We will be in Disney June 22-28th. We go to Dollywood every year for Thanksgiving too and we take the usual things for our children.....diapers, wipes, drinks, etc. We also take a change of clothing as one year my grandson did not quite make it to the bathroom and wet his jeans....no one in Dollywood had small jeans. So we bought the smallest warm ups and lots of safey pins and made the pants fit.
We no longer let this happen. Just take what you would take in to Disney. Dollywood is fun too.

We will be back at Dollywood for Thanksgiving for 9 nights and then again at WDW for 3 weeks beginning December 13th.

Enjoy your trip.

We are Dollywood Season Pass holders.

They do not allow you to take in coolers like WDW does. :headache:

However I have taken in a waterbottle or 2.

Dollywood:
Food like most parks can be expensive...however the Kids meals are reasonable especially if you order it without the "Train Lunch Box" thing they normally come in. My wife usually does this as she has the "Gold Pass" so I don't know the prices. 2 Attractions your kids might find fun would require you to bring a change of Clothes as they will get drowned. One being the River Battle and the other being they Water area in Dreamland Forest. They'll get wet, but also have fun.

Splash Country:
We've only been once...but we had a great time. They have 2 large FamilyRaft Slides a huge Kid play area (the one with the big Bucket that Dumps out every 5 minutes or so. Here we actully went out to the parking lot and ate a picnic lunch in the van... so don't remember anything about food.

We live about 2½ hours form Dollywood and go maybe once a month. This is the first year we've had the Season pass in about 4 years.

I don't know if you like Southern Gospel Music...but the Kingdom Heirs are really great even if you don't...give them a try.

I love southern gospel/bluegrass/country etc. This is our first year ever to have season passes. I so wish that they were to Disney World instead. :sad2:

Thanks for the advice.

Anyone else and anything on the Disney tree?

The food at Dollywood is really good. We ate at a county buffet that was good and not too expensice. They have some different choices than many parks. The funnel cakes are the best I have had. They are stricter than WDW on outside food.

We enjoyed the water park at dollywood too. We also liked the Dixie Stampede.

We rented a cabin so we did a lot of our own cooking and just ate in the parks for lunch.
