Hey guys :) As some of you know, I am leaving Mon am to go to Disney to drop off my daughter to the college program. We have a week together first, then I am staying a few days more to get her settled in. So my current plan was to leave Feb 7th, staying at POP the whole time. Now we are tossing up me staying longer now :) I looked and flight, car rental... cheap enough still, but POP and all the values are sold out. She does get her discount for family as of Feb 7th... but I don't think I should wait that long to book, day of would be crazy!

We usually stay at POP, we dont spend much time at the resort so it works well for us. Dont need to pay for what we don't use. So far I found Royal Plaza Hotel-Downtown Disney- Lake Buena Vista for $224.71 (plus resort fee $16.95 per day)

I like the location being DTD but need more ideas!! I have a car but want to be close to the Disney area, and be safe in case I am alone coming and going.

Please give me ideas :)

thanks!!

Royal Plaza for $224 a night?!?!? That's way too much for Royal Plaza. I've stayed at the Hilton at DTD for cheaper. I really liked it because you could walk right across the street to DTD. I don't think you could walk from Royal Plaza. The new Holiday Inn DTD has some good deals and the so does the Wyndham across the street from the Hilton. Try Book It. com and when you search use " Lake Buena Vista " as the city instead of Orlando. They seem to have alot of deals near Disney.

$224/night for the Royal Plaza is too much for that particular hotel. But you could walk from there to DTD, about a 15 min. walk. Lake Buena Vista has
many hotels near DTD. We stay at the Hawthorn Suites, 8303 Palm Blve, LBV for less than half that price. It has 2 room suites or single rooms, plus a very good breakfast (hot and cold selections) included in the price. We will be there
during the first week of Feb.

Sorry that price was for 2 nights. But I think I will look at those other hotels. I have a car so no walking needed :-)

That makes a little more sense! But I have seen Royal Plaza for $80 a night. Take a look at the Hilton though. I stayed there on a solo trip and felt very safe. Plus they have a couple restaurants and a grab-n-go place right there on the property. And even though you have a car, it's really nice to just walk across the street and be at DTD within 5 minutes without worrying about driving and parking, ect....
