I know this off topic, but I really need some help with this problem. My adult daughter ordered several things from HSN and she made sure at checkout it had her current address to ship to (she has been out of the other house for almost a year) and it was suppost to ship to her new address, but when she didn't get it,it had went to her old address that no one lives in,and of course it isn't there. They shipped it UPS then give it to the postal service to deliver. She has contacted HSN over 15 times because it was their fault and they won't do anything but make her keep paying her flex pays. The postal service won't do anything because they delivered it but to a empty house. What can she do? She works very hard and can not afford to pay for this order what she didn't get.Any help would be great.Thanks.

Has she checked with her neighbors? Perhaps one of them removed the packages and are holding them with the expectation she will come looking for them. Also, she should dispute the charges with her credit card company since she hasn't received the products.

There is't anyone who would keep it for her because no one lives around there long, that's why she moved.

File a dispute with the credit card company. That will get HSN attention when the CC contacts them about the dispute.

Oh and the credit card company dispute can usually be done online. At least Chase is set up that way.

If she is 100% sure she had it shipped to her new address! she can't be held liable.

She should be able to prove it, though. The shipping address should be listed somewhere...on an invoice emailed to her (order confirmation before the items shipped or an email after it had been shipped), in her account, etc. It will be shown somewhere. If it's showing her old address, unfortunately she probably made a mistake and there likely isn't anything that can be done about it.

I guess she could try filing a dispute with the credit card company, but if she accidentally had it sent to her old address (forgot to check the correct box for shipping address, etc) I don't know that they would side with her.

What is "flex pay?" Is the purchased financed through HSN?

In any event, it's the seller's responsibility to get the product to the buyer. She should be able to dispute any charges and get all her money back. But she needs to be aggressive and get the right people on the phone. I recommend calling or emailing the CEO's office if she isn't getting anywhere on the phone.

I feel like the post office has some responsibility here in that they delivered to an empty house...I know someone will probably say "but how did they know it was vacant and not a new owner sending stuff?" but the post office has a responsibility to ensure the item is delivered to the right party. If they feel there is any question about it at all or any risk of theft, they are supposed to get a signature on delivery. Seems like this is a case where the insurance should cover it, but HSN as the shipper will have to file the claim.

:lmao:
Sorry the bolded is funny. Not to make light of your situation. BUT seriously the post office is supposed to keep track of who lives in every single house/apartment on their route. What if it is a rental, one person moves out on the last day of the month and the new person moves in the first day. Is the post office supposed to know if the last person that lives there didn't change the address yet that the person has moved.
Honestly...I have lived at my house for 18 years...I STILL get mail from direct tv addressed ONLY to prior owner (not or current resident) in my box monthly. I called direct tv but they want my information to remove the prior person...not worth it. My mail person knows me and honestly I get other peoples mail occasionally. I put it back in the box and it goes on to the correct person. If it is a sub driver while regular carrier on vacation then how are they supposed to know each person at each residence? They just look at address and deliver the mail. I'm sure to get a signature that would call for paying extra on shipping- usually does because mailman has to get out and walk up to the door. I don't have to sign for every box I get...

Seems like HSN is questioning if OP's daughter put address in correctly. Most places are great about re-sending if things were lost and it was their fault...

10 years ago I bought a camera from HSN. I didn't feel it was the same product they had represented and shipped back via USPS priority with insurance. I got the confirmation from USPS that it was delivered. I waited for awhile to get it credited back and it never did. They claimed they never received the package despite evidence to the contrary. They told me I should have insured it. I said I did, they said file a claim. So I did and the cost was miraculously credited back to my card within days. I think HSN is just sleazy trying to take advantage of people. Sound like things haven't changed.

She has contacted HSN over 15 times because it was their fault and they won't do anything

Just stop there. Why? What are they saying? Exactly.

Does her order confirmation (I assume an email) show the correct address? What does the shipping confirmation (email, again I assume, and I also assume they send a shipping confirmation) say? If those confirmations state her correct address, how does she know it was sent to the old one?

If those confirmations show the correct address, WHY is she even getting off the phone with them? That shows it's clearly a problem in their system. They have to replace this item.

If the confirmations show otherwise, it's going to be a problem.

Note to all...when you move, delete your address from online ordering accounts if possible! You don't even want it showing as an option. DH works for amazon, we both worked there starting in '99 and he's now been with the company a total of something like 9 years, many of those years dealing with customers on one level or another. And even HE gets messed up when he's ordering quickly, sending work items to our condo, or our items to work. Keep it simple for yourself when possible!

Ultimately her claim is with HSN. UPS and the post office are HSN's problem and any reimbursment for the missing package will be paid to them.

I know with UPS they would go back and look for the package and if it is missing with no signature would reimburse HSN after a tracer was put on the package and should be paid within about 30 days. I don't know how the post office works though.

Your daughter might try asking for a manager at HSN and speak with them as well as putting the dispute in with her credit card company for goods not recieved.

Good luck.
