I need a good, fun, special dessert for Christmas dinner. It's just "us", so it doesn't have to feed many. It can't contain nuts as ds is allergic, or ice cream as dh is lactose intolerant. Any recommendations?

A layered trifle? Looks great in the bowl and can be made with any combination you like.

Pound cake or brownies, whipped cream, chocolate pudding, heath bars, oreos, etc.

Or

angel food cake, whipped cream, blueberries, strawberries, etc..

My kids also love Jello made in fancy parfait glasses. Go figure.

Have a great holiday.

Oooh, I'm going to make a dessert pizza this year. All you do is get sugar cookie dough from the store, put it together, roll it out to a pizza shape, and cook it. You can even make them individual for everone so they can personalize their own (I got got a large MM head cookie cutter from The World, so I will be using that). Then you make a creamcheese frosting for the "sauce" and then a bunch of fruit or candy, whatever you want on top. You can drizzle choc on top, or caramel, or whatever you want. If you use fruit (its so good) I made a glaze of orange marmalade to dab on top. Its always a big hit!

Can you do a fire?

How about chocolate peppermint s'mores
Chocolate gram crackers
Giradelli white chocolate peppermint candies
and roasted mashmallows.:lovestruc

I am from the Uk and dont like the traditional xmas pudding, so I make this:

1 or 2 pkts of choc chip cookies
1 cup of orange cordial
1/4 cup of sweet sherry
tub of whipping cream
tsp of cinnamon
1 flake, or some sort of chocolate that crumbles or even chocolate chips

Whip the cream up and add the cinnamon. Add orange cordail to sherry.
Then dip the cookies into the liquid mix one by one, after dipping each one
sandwhich together with cream, once used all the cookies up cover the cookies with the left over cream, then sprinkle with chocolate.
Its best to leave in the fridge overnight but I never get it to stay there that long:confused3
