OT: Natural Springs?

Anyone ever visit a Natural Spring? We’re interested in visiting one in May (in addition to spending time in Daytona and Disney). I think Ponce De Leon State Park is close, not sure of others. I can't seem to find much info with an internet search.
Has anyone taken their family there or to any other natural spring in Florida? We’ll have a 4 and 5 year old (with 3 adults to watch over them), so I’m wondering how it’ll be for them. (Is it safe? Entertaining for the kids? Can they go in the water, assuming they don’t find it too cold? Do you need water shoes?)

If you're up for a bit of a drive, we LOVE High Springs. It is just north of Gainesville (shouldn't take you much more than 2 hours from Disney) and is beautiful! There is camping, and a river you can go canoeing or tubing on. We also swam in the spring, which was cold but sooo crystal clear that we could watch the fish swimming around! With your younger kids, you may be able to rent tubes they can sit in or lay across so they can stay mostly out of the water- and not get too cold!

We went to Ginnie Springs and it was amazing (and SCARY!) seeing the scuba divers disappear into the caves below us! Eek! I don't think I could handle that!

Anyways, I felt bad because you had no replies yet and I had to share because I just LOVE that area! It is totally worth a visit, but if you are not up for a drive that long, I'm sure you can find something great a little closer.
