OT - Myrtle Beach family resort

Looking for a nice family oriented place to stay at MB. Our last stay was at Sandcastle South and we were very disappointed. Anyone have a favorite nice, clean, family hotel??

We've stayed at Ocean Creek twice before and I really liked it. They have 2 oceanfront towers and then smaller units that are further back from the beach (but they have a tram that goes during the day to transport you to the beach). Both times we've stayed in the Lodge Villas. We had a pool close by and the walk to the beach wasn't too bad. The only thing I will say that can be bad, is that these are all privately owned units, so the decorating can vary from unit to unit (and some may not be the best, as i've read complaints on other sites.....). It's close to Barefoot Landing, which is a plus if you like shopping!

It really depends on where you want to stay, what activities you want to be close to and what time of year are you travelling. I am very familiar with the area, just curious as to what exactly you are looking for. Close to strip close to beach, condo? strictly hotel? Most of the hotels on the beach are timeshares or privately owned units. Some hotels do own some of the units while they simply act as rental agents for the owners. Most of the ones at the beach that are newer have nice amenities and furnishings. The Sandy Beach Resort at 201 south ocean in myrtle beach is nice. Just one block away from family kingdom. They just had new towers built. Just deoends on what you want.

We have stayed at the Sea Mist two years in a row. I like them because they have some great family packages that include the water park and amusement park. Plus they have a ton of onsite things to do too. It is in South Myrtle, so it is away from the bars, but you do have to drive a little to get to the shopping, which is really not my thing, so I don't mind!

I grew up vacationing to MB and love it there. My last rip as a kid was in HS and I can't reacll where we stayed but know it was beachfront. Our last trip was back in 03 and we rented a house a block off the beach w/ family.

I highly recommend staying that route if you can afford or even a condo and staying in N. BM it's less conjested and touristy and not a far drive at all down into S to go sightseeing and such.

We stayed in the Cherry Grove beach area, it was wonderful! Don't know if this house is still renting but is was Margaritavilla

Check out Springmaid. I went there growing up and have great memories. It's away from the hustle and bustle and has a pier, restaurant, put put course, stc. It's like a little small town.

so many times I can't count. Charleston beaches are more my fav like Folly Beach, the Pavillion Watch was really great.

Our fav MB resort is the Sea Watch because of the number of pools, hot tubs and lazy rivers. We like the beach area and location. www.seawatchresort.com

You can rent in the MB area a condo from the resorts at www.vrbo.com and just go to SC and MB. We always get our Sea Watch Condo from there and it's always nicer.

There are MANY MANY new resorts there. You can go to www.myrtlebeachlive.com to view what's available.

We have a relative there so drive a few times a year to visit there.

Sea Watch is close to the great outlet mall and a Super Walmart (for groceries, etc.).

There were many place we did not like including Sea Mist (substandard room), Sands North (horrible room and elevators) and Hampton Inn (location mostly for the Hampton Inn room was nice and so was the free breakfast).
