We're going to WDW for 3 or 4 days next week for a relaxing vacation. After the past two days, we need it.
This is what has happened at the school where my wife and I work:
Yesterday: A student dies. It wasn't even something that is expected. Poor kid died from a staph infection that eventually moved to his brain. No idea how he got it. The day was so emotionally draining. Kids were devastated.
Today: A truck runs off the road about 200 yards from the school. He had a heart attack, lost control, and slammed into a poll. Power goes out for 4 hours and they don't send the students home. We are without lights and have no way to teach really (the design of the school has very few windows). AT THE SAME TIME AS THE POWER OUTAGE, we are told we are on lockdown and all doors are locked. It turns out that a guy shot a couple of people about a mile away and the cops were trying to find him. The worst news of the day was after school we found out the driver of the truck didn't make.
It's also been raining heavily this week. Creeks and lakes are now starting to flood. It was dangerous enough driving to work this morning and I don't want to even think about how nasty it will be tomorrow!
