I'm on orange - and they make ever phone ugly with there cr*ppy grey firmware.

Are there risks involved in getting your phone 'flashed'?

There's always a certain amount of risk when flashing anything - whether that be a phone, or a router. I've destroyed my internet router trying to apply official firmware using an official method, so it's always risky.

If you're thinking of doing it, just make sure you do a lot of research into the new firmware and the flashing method before you do it. There's a good chance it would void the warranty on your phone when you flash it, so if something goes wrong, then you'll be on your own.

Personally, if you're only flashing it for aesthetics, then I wouldn't personally do it - it's not worth the risk. On the other hand, if you get lots of new features that you'll really use, then it may be worth doing the research for.
