I dont think I could stand the heat you had though - did I read somewhere it was over 40 some days :scared1:

Im not good in the heat at all

I'm used to it - had lived there for 25 years, it doesn't bother me at all. One day we measured 47.5:scared1: I couldn't walk bare feet on the balcony

See, PoohMadMum knows how to stop us from being the first to answer the quiz :rotfl: - by posting them while I'm at work, I won't be thinking about it until I get home tonight.

At least you can log on at work - Im not allowed - its a sackable offence (im at home today not about to get sacked)

Love the London Pub!! Lol! And the Doggie!! Its sooooo cute!! (Sorry, I have a dog/puppy radar!)

I'm feeling a bit sad and depressed... We had a great holiday, it was warm and relaxing and nice to have everyone around esp my mum. It's hard being back in London, Jeremy started working this morning and Mia is going back to school. The weather is pants, cool but luckily dry today and I'm wondering when I'll see my mum and dad again. We asked them to visit us at Christmas but since their visas ran out, they'll have to get new ones. The British Embassy has increased the prices so now one visa costs 283 Euros which is absurd!!! The salaries there are very low, more or less 200 Eur per month so imagine... And the tickets cost over 300 Eur per person. They'll have to find over 1300 Eur in total to get their visas and tickets...

I'm so sorry I said far too much but just feel the need to open up to someone...

Unfortunately, our country's immigration policies aren't known for being the fairest - as highlighted here, they favour the rich in my opinion, regardless of how deserving (or not) the person may be.

Good afternoon you chatterboxes, boy you've been busy whilst I've been in work!
I'm sure I'll remember someone to add but firstly, Nikki - love your pictures, those butterflies are so pretty.
Bob, hope your throat feels better soon, try either some hot blackcurrant and honey or lemon and barley water and honey, I always find they work the best for me.
Ema74, your children are so beautiful, they have gorgeous eyes! Love your pictures and sorry to hear about it being so expensive for your parents to come over and visit. ((hugs))

I agree... It's a shame that eveyone back home can get a visa for any EU country for 35 Eur but UK isn't included. And 283 Eur is the price for a year/2 year/5 year or 10 year visa. And what is the guarantee that they won't just give them a visa for a year even tho they're due a 5 year one?

Someone's got to pay for the Olympic Games:headache:

Its feeling better already.... I find gargling with Dentyl Mouthwash works quite well! Honey and lemon always helps too though!

Hi Diane

How was work?

Work was great, no children in! LOLs We don't start back at pre-school until Thursday but we've had the loft boarded out so a few of us went back in today to put everything back. I also did some paperwork whilst I was there and then walked home.

Is it a pre school attached to a school?
Part of my job involves finding and getting funding for nursery places so I spend a lot of time going round them all in my area

Umm can I explain this so it makes sense! (probably not!) - we are next door to the primary school and we share it's name, but we are a charity run pre-school and not run by Cheshire County Council.
99% of our children go on to attend the school and we have very strong links with them, I'm the deputy supervisor there and also deal with the bookings and funding making sure the parents understand what they can claim for etc., I love my job even though at times it can get quite stressful - best place is working with the children - forget the paperwork!!

That was very well explained - couldnt work with children all day though - it would drive me mad

:rotfl: I kept an eye on some Quaker children mid-July for about 2 days solid at a gathering - they were generally well behaved; until the last day :rotfl2: Drove me mad at that point :)

When I was at school I worked hosting Kids parties.... That was a nightmare job!! They were always manic.......... Absolute nightmare. Never again. That job is the reason I don't want children.
