She was in a slow pitch softball cage (30 mph) and she had a helmet on. That's as safe as anyone can be in a batting cage - it could just have easily been ds8 or dd25. She's never played ball of any sort and it was her 1st time in, she didn't know that you were supposed to move if the ball came at you - it was plenty slow enough for her to get out of the way.
She may still not be out of the woods on this - her finger is started swelling really bad again over the weekend. I'm calling the pediatrician this morning to see if he wants her to come in or wait for her appt on Wednesday. She has 3 appointments in the next week - pediatrician on Wednesday, Orthopedist on Thursday and Infectious Disease next Monday.
Maybe it was a bad decision letting her go in but I've always let my children try things and do things - it's how children grow and develop independence.
