OT ~ MP3 Player or iPOD? Need Advice...I'm dumb, type slow.

Hi all ~ It's dh's bday on Friday and he wants an iPOD or MP3 player. We know very little about both. Please send advice. I wouldn't mind it playing movies, but dh doesn't care. Thanks! Sandra

I've had very good luck with mine and friends also...Creative Zen mp3 players. They are reasonable, fairly easy to use, and yes, you can get them now with movies, pictures, music, data, etc. I actually went to BestBuy and asked for help. They don't work on commission, so I felt she gave me honest answers for what I wanted. She said basically that Ipods are the same thing, but you are paying for the name...the Kleenex of tissues sort of thing. Some people feel they need to pay for the "name brand", others are ok with saving a little money.

Just double check the software needed on your computer...our computer is about 4 years old and we were still running Windows 2000. All excited after I brought home my new mp3 player only to realize that it wouldn't run on Windows 2000, so I had to wait a few days for a techie friend to come and install Windows XP before I could even use my new "toy". How frustrating!!!

My sweer hubby bought me an IPOD for Mother's Day and I am so hooked! He got me a video IPOD 30GB. You can listen to music and watch videos. It is great as I can download Podcasts and watch Disney video clips of parades, etc. I am hooked to the DisUnplugged.
I find the IPOD very easy to use and it works great. I also bought an adapter for the car so I can listen to the IPOD while in the car through my car's speakers. My hubby bought it in the US where it was cheaper than Canada. Don't know about MP3 players but IPOD is generally very hughly recommened. You can get him a NANO which is cheaper or look into the Shuffle. If you can buy in Buffalo - you might save some $$$.

dh has a creative...ds has a ipod..
the ipod has much better sound quality.

I have a Zen Microphoto, 4G and I love it. I think Ipods are overrated, and Itunes is too much of a hassle.
