I think that I want DD to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween this year. I see that disneyshopping.com has a Minnie costume for $39.95. Does anybody know of anywhere else where I can get a NICE Minnie costume for less $. I'm willing to spend the $40 at disneyshopping if the consensus is that their costume is the nicest/best quality, but if anyone knows of any good deals (or if the disneyshopping costumes are a rip off), I'd love to hear about it!

Thanks!

I don't know about quality yet. I just ordered 2 and the USPS has "missent" my package. I don't know where it is yet. Anyway, I can tell you the quality when/if they arrive.

As far as prices go, you just missed a bunch of sales. I got mine for about $22, and I know some people got theirs for a little less. If you can wait a while, they might have some kind of sale before Halloween. I wouldn't pay $40 for one. There is a 25% off code right now, but it's still not as good a deal as the recent sales. Although, you might want to use that anyway b/c costumes have free shipping with no $ amount to spend right now.

The Disney store has Minnie costumes (also shoes, ears, etc.). They're probably under $40, but at least you could see them in person to decide whether or not they are worth the $.

ps- The costumes at our Disney store are going fast. I bought DD a Tinkerbell costume just in case she changes her mind (as she often does). I'll just return it if she doesn't use it.

We love the Disney costumes. Watch the website. A couple days ago they were on sale for 24.99 with free shipping. I have a Disney visa so I used the code and got 20% off for a total of 19.99 shipped.

My DD was Minnie Mouse 2 years ago. I purchased the costume from the Disney store it is excellant quality. I never had so many people comment on a costume.
We acutally left for Disney a few days after Halloween and she wore it to Chief Mickey's.......I got the cutest pictures of her in her costume with Minnie Mouse.

With the current promotions at disneyshopping, it looks like I can get the costume for $30 including shipping, which is reasonable IMHO. I'm just glad to hear that no one thought that the costumes were junk. DD wears around a 3T these days, so I think that I'm going to order her an XS (opposed to an XXS). This way, she might be able to wear the costume during a trip in the winter or next fall as well.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Check Ebay. I got my DD a cute Ariel costume (much nicer than the ones Ive seen). Also, someone posted about a cute dress at Gymboree. It was red with white polka dots. With a few accessories (ears, shoes, etc) you could spruce it up to look like Minnie. I saw a little girl wearing it the other week and it was cute. Plus its something that you could get double use out of!

DD was Minnie last year. I think she will be Minnie this year also for Halloween (as we got it a little big). GREAT costume. She got alot of comments on how adorable she was. We just colored her nose black and put the Minnie Mouse ears with the bow that we got at WDW last year. (Actually they were MY ears - I insisted on DH getting them for ME. I wore them every day last year at WDW. In fact I left them at the hotel the last full day we were there and politley ordered my DH to buy me another ear. He did. Now DD and I have ears! Juvenile, I know. Hey, Its WDW!!!)

Anyway, I spent $30.00 last year on the dress. Well worth it. We did get the shoes to go with it too.

I just bought one for my DD off Ebay. It was new with tags from the Disney Store for $12.04 + $5.00 shipping. I bought it a little bit big so hopefully she will be able to wear it again in December while we're there. Have you tried checking there? There are alot of costumes and most of them aren't selling. I think most people just are thinking about Halloween yet.

I got my costumes today! Yay! I was a little upset at first b/c USPS sent them to the wrong place, but they came today. I ordered 2 costumes and a dress and a t-shirt and they were sent in a bag which was stuffed inside my mailbox! Sheesh.

Anyhow, the good news is the costumes are adorable! We got Snow White and Cinderella. My oldest already has 2 costumes. One is a dress-up Cinderella from Toys R US. The other is a Belle with a long tutu from the Disney Store. I think the ones from Disney Shopping are the cutest (the Cinderella and Snow White). The ones I just received (from Disney Shopping) are for our 2.5 dd. She is small and still wears a 2T. I wanted the costume to fit her as she grows though, so I didn't buy XXS; I bought XS. This is supposed to be equivalent to about a size 4. It is big, but it fits her without falling off. Her older sister who is nearly 5 can fit it, but she wouldn't have had a lot of growing room.

Also, there is tulle (?) inside to make the skirts puff out, but the bottom layer that goes against the skin is polyester, I think, so it is not itchy at all. They have no zipper or velcro. You pull the dress on over your child's head.

I don't think I would pay $40 based on principle alone, but I think $25 is a good price. I got them for a little less than that. I have looked at costumes in the dress-up area at Wal-Mart and Target. These (Disney shopping) are much nicer. I haven't seen the costumes they just brought out recently at Disney Store. I did see the Belle and Cinderella. I can't remember how the Cinderella compares. Obviously I paid less for mine.

Hope this information helps someone! :)

DD(2) was Minnie Mouse last year for halloween. I found it on clearance at the Disney outlet site for $10.00.

I bought her the shoes from the Disney Store then had someone on ebay make her polka dot socks and hair ribbons (since she wouldn't keep the ears on). She wore it for MNSSHP.

She also wore this outfit to Chef Mickeys on her 2nd birthday and everyone including Minnie made a huge fuss over her. I got the cutest pic of her and Minnie then got it screened on her cake for her birthday party when we returned home.

Plus she wore the dress for her birthday party since it was a Minnie Mouse theme.

Our DD has been Minnie Mouse the last two Halloweens - and probably would do it again if she hadn't become obsessed with Snow White lately. We got her costume at the local Disney Store and it is very high quality. I have had to get larger shoes (the polka-dot ones) on ebay with no problems. We add a bit of a black smudge on for her mouse nose, and she loved it. Because it is cold in late October here, she wore black tights and a black turtleneck under it. Adorable. I'm sure you can find some deals, but don't wait too long.

My DD was MM last Halloween, and she wore the official Disney costume. I ended up ordering it last minute, and paid top dollar only because when I saw the MM costume at Target in September I thought I had plenty of time! Look at Target when their costumes come out (maybe already out? Haven't been to a Target in a month or so). They were decent quality, and about $20.

Will you be at Disney for Halloween? We purchased our dd's Minnie costume at Disney World May of 05. DD wore the costume for Halloween last year at her preschool festival. We tried it on her last week and it fits even better this year and looks way cuter on her this year. We are THRILLED because a) the costome was purchased for around $40 and b) she is getting TWO years out of it, and c) we will be at DISNEY with her this year for Halloween. So, this will be a great outfit for her. Oh, and not to mention that I hear this will be a great costume because it will be HOT in Orlando even in October....so, she should stay pleasant in this costume.

I ended up getting the Minnie costume at disneyshopping.com last night for $29 including shipping. I didn't get the ears or gloves or shoes. I figure we can check out ears at WDW in Sept. or we can use the ones she already has. I'm happy with that price and I bought a little on the big side so hopefully we'll get more use out of it than just Halloween.

I got my dd 3 minnie mouse costume at target last year. I dont remember how much but it was cute and cheaper than the disney store. She still has it. Plays dress up with it.

We just bought my youngest DD a Minnie costume from the Disney Store today -- it's a size 18-24 months, so maybe that's why, but it was $24.50. . . of course then I bought the shoes and mouse ears to match! It is ADORABLE!!! But it also just really suits her personality, I think . . . Good luck!
