OT: Milton residents

DD and I were heading to Toronto from London for a hockey tournament this morning (yes, it's that time of year again ). I had planned on stopping at the welcome centre on the 401 in Milton and it's closed. Like, really closed! When did that happen? Based on the building going on all around that location I'm assuming a developer bought the property.

Looks like I'll have to start stopping in Cambridge on my way through Toronto.

Noticed that today too. Must be that with all the commercial choices for food and gas now developed on Winston Churchill before it, and Mississauga/Erin Mills after it that it perhaps was no longer viable. Just speculation on my part.

My understanding is the GTA tourist board as well as Shell leased the land. The lease was up and the couldn't come to an agreement.

I live in Milton so it really didn't make a lot of difference to me but did notice it was closed. Between Milton and Winston Churchill there are a lot of places to eat and to get gas. I thought that the one near Kitchener looked like it was on the brink of closing as well.

Well serves them right for closing off the upstairs. That was a great place to meet because no one else ever went up there but us DISers!
