OT - Magic Jack?

I know this is somewhat off topic but has some relevance. Has anyone bought the Magic Jack? I can see that it would be useful for trips to Disney since it operates over the internet and gives unlimited north american long distance. Since I am a DVC member I get free internet in my room so it allows me to bring my phone with me. Anyone else have this? If so, how has the call quality been?

I use Skype to make phone calls PC To PC is free and PC to phone is 2c a min ( No phone required )call quality is great . One of My Co workers used Magic Jack and some times had quality problems

I have a Mj and take it everywhere when i am on the go. Yes some times the connection is off. I just hang up and call right back. That seems to fix it.

I have a voip phone with call dispaly.. I just tell everyone to call. and hang up and i can call them back for free.

Love the voice mail. It leaves the message in my email box and I can listen to it later that way too.

My BIL has one and seems to love it. Everytime I talk with his family, I never notice any quality issues.

Well I bit the bullet. Not cancelling the land line yet, but I don't see how I can go wrong with $50 for one year of phone service and unlimited long distance in North America. I bought it at BEst Buy and paid an extra $10 for a Canadian number. So far the sound quality is pretty good. No one has complained as of yet. I even like that voice mails go to my email which arrive on my blackberry. So if someone leaves me a message at home I get it almost instantly and can play it from my blackberry! It has only been a day, but so far so good. Thanks all!

My mom has had a magic jack for a few years now and has never had a problem. She got onto it from some friends that go to Mexico for the winter and they take with them to use in down there. They have used it for many years now and love it.
