LaPlaya is great...hands down one of my favorite resorts. If you want to be on the beach then it is definitely the way to go. Coconut Point is also a great resort, but not on the beach. Of course, their pool area more than makes up for it.
would you consider these resorts 4 star? restaurants at hotels or near pretty good? ( I thought I read somewhere that Laplaya didn't have much in the way of restaurants on site) How far is coconut point or coconut plantation from ocean? I think one may have a boat that can take you to a private beach...
thanks for your input
Both are consistently rated among the best in Florida. Can't really speak to the food at Coconut Point. Baleen at LaPlaya is great, but there's not much in the way of casual food if that's what you mean.
Coconut Point Hyatt is on the water but there is no beach. They do however, have a water taxi that takes guests on a 10 minute ride over to their own "semi-private" beach with clubhouse. It is a nice beach and great for shelling. They are also close to Coconut Point mall which has lots of restaurants and shopping. My in-laws live near there and I have only been there for drinks but it is very nice.
La Playa is right on the beach where you can walk for miles if you wanted. Also lots of good restaurants nearby in Naples. I have stayed here and really enjoyed it.
