I have to admit...I'm a Kindle Addict. Originally, I didn't think I'd like an eBook reader. I'm a big fan of traditional print literacy. However, once I got my Kindle, I was hooked.
Pros:
- carry your whole library everywhere
- change font sizes easily
- electronic ink used is surprisingly easy on the eyes
- generally lasts for a week or two of relatively heavy reading
- lots of cases, book lights and other accessories available
- can get Amazon.com gift cards to use for eBook purchases via Airmiles/Aeroplan/other points sites
- can purchase books via
Amazon and a number of other sites, like Baen's free library
- "instant book gratification" where you can receive a new book in less than 60 seconds
Cons:
- not everything is available in eBook formats yet
- need to put it in a ziploc in order to feel safe about reading in the bathtub
- "instant book gratification" where you can receive a new book in less than 60 seconds
I was purchasing almost everything from Amazon already, since my personal Chapters boycott started (due to the change in their discount/points card, which eliminated the points aspect) so going with the Kindle was a no-brainer. However, if you google "kindle versus kobo" or search for reviews for one or the other, you should be able to get some good comparison charts or reviews...
