OT: kindle ap question

anyone use the kindle ap on an ipod? i am not able to sync and books that I purchased are not showing up.

the wifi is working on the ipod but not for the kindle ap

anyone have any ideas for me?????

I would make sure you are logged into your Kindle account on amazon (through the phone I mean) - that log-in screen should have come up when you first opened the app, I assume (it's been a long time since I added it to my phone).

When in doubt, try deleting the app and adding it back to your phone too.

Wait - new thought - you said books you downloaded are not syncing to the phone? That's different - that's a sync issue in iTunes. Make sure on the "Books" tab in iTunes (when you connect your iPod to the computer) has the sync box checked.

I am logged in on amazon . . .

I tried deleting the app - It won't let me . . .I get a wifi not working message. However, the wifi is working on the ipod for everything else.

I didn't get the books from itunes - I got them from amazon - does that make a difference.

I'm not sure - yes, sorry about confusing it with iTunes - I have iBooks AND Kindle books and I was confusing how the two things work! Sometimes it all runs together in my brain.

I'm not sure why you would be having a wifi issue with only the Kindle app. But you shouldn't NEED wifi to delete something from your iPod. Just press on the icon for the app until it starts to shake and then you will see a little "x" on the corner of the icon. Hit the "x" and you can delete it from your phone.

Other than that deleting and re-adding, I don't have any good ideas.

Another thing to try - log in to Amazon on your computer and go to "Manage Your Kindle". In the section titled "Your Computer and Other Mobile Device(s)" make sure your iPod is showing (and if it's not, add it).

I also did go into amazon and deactivated therere - but it was still on my ipod so I could not install it.

I did finally figure it out finally - somehow my ipod thought it was Jan 17, 1971. Once I adjusted the date and time all worked fine again and my books downloaded no problem.

I have no idea how the time reverted back and why 1971 was even an option!
