OT: kindergarten show and tell

My daughters second graade teacher hated everything we brought in.....turtles, frogs, bug, ultrasound pictures( of her kidneys), ekg strips, and photos from an upper GI, all the wrist bands from my daughters hospital visit, the girl spent 5 months sick... the only place we went was to the doctors office and hospital. SHe thought i was very strange, although all the kids thought it was cool to see the inside of her stomach. Hopefully this years teacher is a little more open to out of the box thinking.

My DD was in preschool. She bought in bubble gum and showed the class how she could blow a bubble.( Then, she had to throw it out.)
Her teacher said that it was a first for her.
DD was so proud.

My DS took our black lab. DH took the dog to the school the last 15 minutes of the day, and the teacher brought the class outside to see him. DS talked about the dog and then he threw a tennis ball for the dog to chase. The kids took turns throwing the ball for him too, and they thought it wasa great.

My DD would bring a postcard from a fun trip, a stuffed animal, a favorite book she had just read, several pictures of the family or our pets or places we've gone.

The class also had a shared Teddy Bear that each child was allowed to bring home over the weekend once during the school year - DD's weekend was our trip to Chattanooga so we took lots of pics of Teddy Bear in Chattanooga that DD brought to school over several weeks for show and tell. That was really popular!

Once she brought her favorite doll and all the girls wanted to touch it - DD got really upset and the teacher sent home a note asking us to not let her bring that again.

In preschool, my kids liked to bring something they found in the yard. (Flowers, bugs, etc. in a big jar.)
