OT... Kindergarten grab bag

So my DD is in kindergarten. Her teacher sent home a note about participating in the holiday party grab bag. If we want to participate, we need to send in a gift wrapped for $4. Since we will buy from my DD we will buy a gift for a girl, boys will buy for boys.

Any suggestions on what we can buy for $4? I need lots of help!

Our grab bags are usually for books or puzzles - this is good for either gender.

I was going to suggest a book, too. Or maybe a new coloring book/drawing pad, crayons, and stickers/stamps from the dollar store. Any type of art supplies are always a hit at our house.

At our Dollar General you can sometimes get a real My Little Pony for $3.50. (I hate the imitations)

Art supplies are good because they can be used up and not clutter the house forever. A pack of markers or crayons (Crayola of course!) or a small fuzzy poster.

I'm sure if you peruse the toy or office supplies at a discount store you can find something suitable.

Check your local family dollar. They had some Littlest Pet Shop animals for 2.50. My DD brought a note home today. They will be stuffing stockings so I have to send in something identical identical for 20 kids. How is that not going to cost a fortune unless I get the same pencil or eraser for each kid that most of the other parents are going buy?

Oh, I'm envious. Ours is you have to find a new book for $2 or less for my DD's kindergarten Christmas book swap. Even the early reader books start at $4 around here. It was a pain to find a good new book that fit the criteria.

Books, puzzles, LPS, My Little Pony, art supplies, sticker books, craft kits, board games, color wonder packs etc... Or you could find a pair of dress up 'fancy' gloves, some necklaces and bracelets for princess dress-up.
