Starting to think about our 10 year anniversary next year (2011) and I'm determined to go someone, just DH and I. Key West is at the top of my list (we don't want to go overseas, do a cruise or anything that requires a passport right now).

So, I need some Key West scoop based on the following:

1. Any all inclusive hotels? We are hotel people, really don't want a B&B;

2. We will more than likely fly into Miami and rent a cool car and drive to Key West (so if a car makes any difference??);

3. Would like to be on a beach, also have access to a pool and some water sports. DH loves to jet ski, wouldn't mind a deep sea boat ride, try snorkeling? I could lay on a beach or by the pool all day, DH needs some activities :)

4. Oh, and I'm thinking March, April, May 2011 time frame for probably 4 nites/5 days (anniversary next year falls the week of Easter, so we may try to avoid that time all together).

Thanks for any info I can get to get my plannning folder started.

Oh, also, any good books out there that would be worth buying?

I don't know about all inclusive hotels. Last I new there were chain hotels in the Newer section of Key West. I haven't seen that in ages though. All the atmosphere is in "Old Key West". Here is a link on some discussions. I love Key West.

Rent a convertable. The drive through the Keys is beautiful. Key West is not really a "beach" destination. There are better beaches in Miami. The Bahia Honda beach is one of the best, but I remember it being rocky and lots of seaweed.
