OT: jon and Kate + 8 new house?

I have a friend who is a nurse in Reading and she said that all the nurses who worked with her when Kate was a nurse said that she was horrible to get along with personally and professionally! I believe that what you see is what you get with her. I wondered what happened to all her hired help...now I know! She can't even keep the volunteers around. Lucky for her Jon seems to love her despite her overpowering, control happy OCD.

Did they really move to Wernersville? We actually looked for a house out there. Nice area but in the middle of nowheresville. I guess that is why they chose property out there.

Like I said...She burned alot of bridges and made alot of enemies..:rolleyes1

I was always curious why her family wasn't involved in their lives, so I did a little Internet research. What I found wasn't pleasant to read, but it wasn't enough to make me stop watching. When I noticed Aunt Jodi was MIA, once again, I did a little Internet research, and once again, it wasn't pleasant. If that was the only story out there, then it would be easy to dismiss. But there are NO positive Kate stories anywhere on the internet from people in their past.

Don't forget about Beth, that woman would do anything for Kate, now she's MIA too. :sad2:

I watched the show for awhile, but then they (Kate) really started rubbing me the wrong way. She's really holier than thou, and I just can't take it.

Reading that article about the state owing her a medicaid nurse really cheese me. The state didn't choose to use fertility drugs--how's it the state's responsibility to provide care for them?! GRRRRRRR.

And now they have this wealth that sure doesn't seem to be shared at all. In fact, as others have said, they're seizing opportunities to indulge themselves. Yuck.

Now, now...they did have one episode of having a garage sale (which she grumbled that not enough people came to) and donated the $$ somewhere...never finished watching that one and don't think I missed anything. Hasn't she also talked about March of Dimes or one of the children's charities?

I didn't watch the show last night, but I did google and see pics of the new house.

Here's my thought. They bought this new house, estimated to be sold for something like $1.3 million dollars. How did they pay for it? In cash? Or did they take out a mortgage?

With this new house purchase, I can see a lot of people not interested in the show anymore because of the "relate-ability" factor. The average family can't afford a $1.3 million dollar home.

So, a lot of people get turned off by the show, their ratings decline...now, the show is cancelled. How are they going to afford those big mortgage payments?

Give it a few years and they'll be foreclosing on the house, I'm sure.

It's too bad because I used to like the show. I can relate to Kate, as I am an OCD clean freak myself. I lost interest about a year ago when Maddie started getting so darn snotty and Kate did nothing to stop it.

Way back in December I came across this house listed with a realtor for 1.3 million dollars. On other websites dedicated to the show rumors are that TLC bought the house for them. People have found out that the house is not in jon and kates name because they have done public record searches. In PA whenever someone buys a home it is a matter of public record and you do not have a say about it. It automatically goes into the newspaper as well. People are suggesting it is in some sort of Trust or owned by a company. The house is located in Berks County PA. Their previous home is up for sale
http://www.brwnstone.com/properties/details.asp?listingid=10174495. Some are speculating that this new house is a temp. house until their perm. home is finished being built by TLC in NC which is where the production company of the show is located. Time will tell. I know their are also many petitions going around the internet to have the show taken off from the air so hopefully they have saved and can afford this new home just in case. We all know this show like others is not going to last forever anyway.

I didn't read the whole thread, so forgive me if this has been mentioned.

Did anyone notice they never showed the outside of the new house last night? The always show the outside of the old house. I wonder if they moved partly because they were getting people driving by to catch a glimpse of them. This place looked set back from the road and much more private.

I have read on other boards that there previous house was trashed this past Halloween. People toilet papered it and threw eggs at it etc. I do not know how true this is just something I read. Also neighbors have reported that they moved in the middle of the night. I am sure this was probably one of their concerns but not the main reason for moving. Kate said on the show numerous times that they needed a bigger home.

When we heard that this morning my DH and I both said "I smell a reality show". :rotfl2: Who knows thouhg, maybe they will have learned from J&K8 and keep the camersa farr away!!!

I thought the same thing but after reading an article about it online I do not think that is going to happen. The mother has kept her idenity a secret and they have not released any pics of the babies. That could all change but I am thinking that this family does not want all the publicity.

Funny thing about the fast food. There was an episode a couple seasons ago. I think it was when they were redoing Cara and mady's room. In the episode Kate said that her kids never had fast food and didn't even know what it was. A few minutes later one of the twins, don't recall which, was looking out the window and on the dresser by the window was a McDonald's cup. My DH and I were cracking up. I mean, I don't care if you give your kids McD's or not, if you are againts fast food, by all means good for you (I don't like McD's myself), but it was just so funny how the cup happened to be there for that episode!

Totally agree. And last night they had take out pizza but dont you know they always eat organic. I have to laugh everytime she says that as there have been so many times on the show that they did not eat organic. Even times when they clearly did have fast food: Legoland/Disney World- you can not tell me that they did not have any counter service the whole time they were there.

OT: It also annoys me when they say the kids have no college funds set up when they in fact do have one that was set up by the state of PA for the kids first birthday. The only way they no longer have one is if they spent the money out of the fund. I would think that it should be difficult to do though being that the state set it up. It should be in trust until the kids turn of age.

I question it too, because in the book it said then when they got the home makover they had all new cribs in the room. So that makes alot of what is said untrue, especially about her family. I alsoread that they tape 3 days a week with 1 whole day being the interview. So in reality it is not that much because they don't tape all year either.

During interviews answering questions on the show Kate has said more than once that they do in fact tape all year round. She said they have never stopped since starting the show.

OK, I admit it...I googled! I found one post that gave an actual AP article that made me wonder...Remember how in one of the specials (I think it was or a remenicing special) that they had all the volunteers coming and going then one day she did it by herself, and then the next and then the next??? Anyone have a guess how old the babies were at that point? A year or under?

There is another statemnet that just BLEW ME AWAY!!! google...Kate Gosselin medicare hearing...it came up as the first option. Seriously, this completely changed ANY positive thoughts I had of her.

Yes she petitioned the state to let her keep the nurse that they had for the babies first 6 months or year of life forget which. After that their was no need to have a nurse any longer as the babies were all healthy and doing great. Kate went to court and told them that she could not afford to pay for someone to help out and that she could not do it all alone so she needed the nurse to stay on longer at a cost to the state of $20000+ a year. She said the state should provide this since society allows fetility treatments.

I was a bit confused as to where the new home was now located since they spoke so much of moving down south. Now they are still in Berks county. Maybe it is just a temporary move until they build their "real" home in NC?

I read the article about the state paying for the nurse and Kate wanting money for the kids futures because of the outcome of her fertility treatments! I live in PA Berks county...nice to know some of my hard earned cash went to the Gosselins trust fund. Now that they are wealthy could I get some of that cash back... I could sure use it now:) I can joke, but it does kind of tick me off now that I found that little tidbit out!

Is TLC setting these kids up for failure? How many families of that size can afford a trip to Hawaii, to go skiiing (staying in a chalet, buying all new ski outfits), nd what about the million $$ house???

I agree. I feel the same way with "The Bachelor". I love watching the show, but ABC sets the couple up for failure. The girls and the bachelor live a lavish lifestyle for several weeks w/ these amazing and unheard of dates. The girls all claim to fall in love w/ him within a couple of weeks. Well, I would to if I was in that kind of setting. But then when it's all over, and they are settled in the real world, reality sets in. Pay the bills, do the laundry:laundy: , clean house, etc and no wonder these couples almost never work out! :confused3

As for JK8, I watch the show periodically. The show doesn't showcase the kids anymore, it's more of a B****fest from Kate. She complains about Jon not doing things the right way, she yells at the kids, she talks about how blessed she is, blah blah blah. But you know what? I still watch the darn show! :rolleyes2 Oh well!

I have noticed that. I don't watch the show often and rarely on a Mon Night. But sometimes I'll have it on TLC during the day and catch parts in and out fo the room. I have noticed it is more the KATE show, but I thought it was just my timing for watching.

Didn't they also stop in NC on the way to another vacation to look at property. I seem to remember Kate bit--ing about the bugs and how Jon was driving the van.

I never liked their show. Out of curiosity I watched it several times, but it just didn't appeal to me. I found Kate to be too whiny. They should be greatful for the chance the show gave them.

Don't kid yourself KAte has had plenty of HELP.WHen those kids were born.. they received a free lifetime supplyof diapers and formula for the sextuplets, a local car buisness donated a new van,and several local buisnesses and govt agencies in PA set up college funds in each of the kids names. How many other families of mulitples are that lucky?Kate is so FOS I can't take it.Maybe she wouldn't have needed a nurse if she would have been a tad bit nicer to the volunteers( some of us were nursesand some were her co workers), and others who were willing to and did help her till she threw us out of the house.I have no use for people who cry for help then spit in the face of it.I just worry about this media circus and the children. What happens to them when the camers stop rolling and are no longer interested?

Yes, we really just said it sarcastically. I was glad to hear this as well. :thumbsup2

I too can't stand to watch Kate's behaivors, and frankly a man who has no backbone annoys me too, but really what worries me is the kids. This really just seems wrong. You hear about all the child actors growing up to have issues, and those are kids acting. These kids lives are on public display. Many if not all have issues in childhood, but to have it broadcast for all to see is very invasive. Imagine those little kids going to school next year and being teased that they need their mommy to wipe their bottom. Maybe other kids are in the same situation but it isn't out there for all to know about. Or imagine Maddie's friends all seeing her troubles. I think that is sad. These are family troubles that should be kept within the family. I hate to see what demons these kids have to face in 10 or 20 years because of the show.

I heard that there was an episode that they were talking about the fact taht people say they have sold their kids out? I didn't see it but I heard about it. That thye said they don't see it that way that they have been able to give their kids so much because of the show. I come back to privacy and normalicy is worth far more than big houses, fancy vacations and the like.

I have heard people say they would do the same. I personally would not have, ever. I am too private of a person anyway. I would have taken out loans for diapers and baby things (we did it when we had our oldest and didn't have the money for diapers, no big deal, you do what you have to do.) But I wonder if having seen this family if they still feel that same way.

I have never been a big fan of the show but I do watch it sometimes, and my kids like it for some odd reason. Anyway, from what I have seen Kate is a "B", and Jon is crazy for putting up with her. I have lost it for the show now for many reasons, but mainly because it has turned into a "look at Jon & Kate" show, and it's not so much about the kids anymore.

My kids used to watch it too, they don't like it anymore. But they used to watch and say that Kate was a mean mom and they were glad they had me for a mom. I should have them watch again so they appreciate me more!:rotfl:
