Has anyone ever stayed at Jetty Park Campground in Titusville? What did you think of it?

How private is it from the people on the piers and beach? Thinking about spending one or two nights there to visit the Space Center. We have a 32 ft travel trailer and will need the usual amentities for it.

Thanks.

We've stayed there a couple of times, sites have water and electric and some have sewer hook up, as I recall they had a major mosquito problem when we visited, short walk to the beach and pier, best part was we got to see the Disney Ship leave Port Canaveral and blow her whistle.

It has all the amenities, but no privacy. People can walk around from any point in Jetty Park. It is cool though, that you can watch the cruise ships come and go and also, there is a beautiful beach and pier there. The last time we were there we got to see dolphins body surfing in the waves. It was really neat!! We also saw the Disney Cruise ship set sail. Wait til you hear their horn!!

For a few days stay, it's all right. I wouldn't want to spend more than a week there, however. If a shuttle is launching while you're there, you can see it fairly well from Jetty Park:thumbsup2 .

we stayed there in August to see a shuttle launch, and I agree, the beach and pier are great.

The campground itself leaves much to be desired, IMHO. The grass needed to be cut BADLY.. therefore mosquitos and ticks were a BIG problem for us. Also, the bathhouses were disgusting! They were in need of a thorough cleaning, at minimum. I refused to shower there.

Also, there is NO privacy between sites, and the layout of the sites is a bit confusing, if you are not familiar with the grounds. We arrived right after the "store" had closed, and could not find a map to help us locate our site, and the person at the entrance booth was less than helpful.

All that said, we would stay there again ONLY if we could not find a site ANYWHERE else. I must say that our stay was only for 2 nights in August, so it could have just been a bad time for the park, but that was our experience.

We have been going to Jetty as a sidetrip camping stay whenever we go to FW in the summer. I agree the bath houses leave much to be desired. I use them, but only because I would rather get dirt and salt in them than in my RV shower. I've never had a problem with ticks (we've gone in June, July and August) and the mosquito problem is no worse than anywhere else in Florida, in my opinion. I use mosquito repellent if I plan to go out in the evening. I like Jetty and while I wouldn't see it as an "extended stay", I do enjoy a couple of days at the beach, watching the wildlife, surfing, fishing, swimming, sunning, watching the ships (Disney ones, especially) and the occassional space launches that I've caught there.
