OT: It's that time of year Southern Ontario: Let's Go to the EX!

We were there yesterday, all 5 of us ate from different vendors, none of us got sick, but zero cronuts were saught, found nor desired.
Had a fantastic time at the EX too! DS12 and DD10 both sailed along the PC Financial Zipline. DS12 also took the helmet cam option with youtube video. Great to keep as a momento if I could find a way to download that same video.
Go the the EX and have a great time!

We were there from opening to closing! Even my 6 year old had no problem. So much to see and do. Great training for the long fun-filled days coming up for our first ever trip to the dark side in November. I'll be looking here for lots of tips!

I love the CNE! I've gone every year since I was tiny

Mind you, this summer is quite busy... might have to squeeze in a $5 after 5pm deal!

Next time, if you buy before the CNE opens - you save.

And there are few days where there are ticket deals separately. Opening day and I believe it's called Kids' Day.

I live so close that it sounded like the jets were coming right into my suite.

I bought one discounted entry before the Ex started - the $12 one. So I will go today or tomorrow again. I've done $5 after 5, and opening day discounts, to be able to go. They are smart with their discounts/promotions.

The finals of the talent show are today at 7 pm at The Bandshell. I saw the semis the other night and some were INSANELY talented. There was a young black girl named Saria, around 11 - I hope she got into the finals. Her voice was just unbelievable.

I literally just got in about a half an hour ago from a fantastic day! Nothing like the Ex to make one smile. I was very sad about something and it really helped. I will load the pictures later.

Got so much in - the acrobatic show, the rising star finale, the chair lift, live music, air show, dollar samosas - just a great day.

Well, here are the pictures of a lovely, lovely day! Stayed until closing - didn't want to leave.

Some highlights:

* the acrobatic show was incredible. And the length, to me, was perfect. A half an hour. I love Cirque de Soleil but I truly think they can shorten a bit - obviously not a half an hour but shorten. The last one I saw Wintuk in NYC - well the length took away from it, in my opinion. The women on the silks were breathtaking last night.

* Weight/age guesser - continue to love. Jean was guessed almost 40 pounds off last night. Under. They're great. I miss the guy that used to be bang on 90% of the time but last night's guy was hysterical!

* I know so many people DISLIKE Toronto. But there is nothing like the Ex to see the absolute lovely of it - the diversity abound, in peace and joy.

* Yesterday, I had a $12 entrance ticket. The shows that I got out of that - the entertainment. Way beyond that. Two live bands, acrobatic spectacular and wonderful talent at the Rising Star finale. Not to mention the comedy show of the age/weight guesser.

* I love corn on a cob.

* The sand art - wow.

* Went on the chair lift late last night - good choice - it was a smile inducing ride so high with all those colours!

* I rarely lose the water gun game and I lost last night.

* I just love a fair that has been going on for 135 years! Tradition.
