OT: International Xmas dishes for kids

I just received an email today that my 3rd grader will be studying Holiday traditions around the world and will need to bring an international dish to her class party on Monday. It can not be cookies. Since I will be volunteering in my other daughter's class the entire day that day, it needs to be something that I can make ahead of time and doesn't have to stay warm. I can't think of a thing. Can anyone PLEASE suggest something easy?

Former French teacher here. I love a good Buche du Noel (Christmas log). Its basically cake with fillling/icing rolled up, then iced and decorated like a log. It can be tricky to make, but some places make them too. Search the web for a recipe. Crepes are another one. You can premake them, then either fill them with jelly, Nutella (my fav) etc, or let the kids spread the stuff on them at school. Also try searching the web for international holiday recipes.

A drink might be good, perhaps a non-alc version of wassail? You can keep it warm in a thermos; they will probably only want a small taste of it.

Trifle might also work, if you have an ice chest you can store it in.

Mrs. T's Pierogies in the frozen food section....It's a Polish tradition to make them for Christmas Eve dinner. My in-laws make them from scratch every year. The frozen aren't exactly the same (as most frozen food items aren't) but they're close enough!
