OT:In memory of Lucky

I will not be on VMK that much because of the loss of a great friend.My cousin,he was also a dog.

Lucky-A standard schnauzer of 12 years was put down Friday the 6th because of multiple seizures,we could not see him suffer anymore.He was blind,had diabeties,was hit by a car once,yet the happiest and sweetest dog ever.

May God bless his little soul.Someday we will meet again,but until then,may your thoughts and prayers help him and I get through.

I am sorry. I also have lost pets. I lost my bird , got another one and it died too and my hamster died a couple of months ago. Just remember those happy times with him. Seeing a love one suffer isnt right, for you and your family or the dog itself. He will alwyas be in your heart.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Someone who saw my post on http://disc.server.com/Indices/10309.html sent me this as an e-mail,and you have both helped me so much.I want to thank you all for these kind messages.

Thank you so much,I can't stand it.
I went over to my cousins over the Christmas break and remember walking him to his water bowl because he is blind.Now he's gone.Forever,until that day comes when we will meet again.I can't believe it,I mean one minute you are feeding him then the next he is gone.My own dog Jessie doesn't have a cousin anymore,I don't either.

When we visit my cousins,we always used to say "Come on Jessie we're going to Karolina's and Anna's house.And Auntie and Uncle and Lucky,yeah Lucky!"and he got so excited.Now he will just see the old dishes of his,toys,and bed just laying there.

I remember when he got hit by the car,my cousins visited me and because Lucky wasn't there my dog jumped in their car and started sniffing around looking for him.We found him sniffing under a car seat and wondered why,I stuck my hand underneath and found his collar and leash.

My Aunt is actually on the phone with my Mom right now,the whole house is quiet.Even my dog stopped barking,it's like he knows something is wrong.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of one of your family members. I know it can seem to hurt for such a long time. But it will get better and Lucky will always be apart of your heart. I found when I loss my Sparkie I made a collage of pictures and put it in a special place with the peom from rainbow bridge. I lit a candle every day for a month. It somehow made me feel better letting her know I was thinking about her and hoping she was thinking about me. Also I went to petloss.com and wrote a little memorial to her. Each day it will get a little better but I know how hard it is for you right now. Some people do not understand how one can grieve so much over a dog. But to us dog and cat lovers they are and will always be part of our family.

You are not alone my friend.

Ah, my dog was hit by a car just before Christmas. He finally got stiches out today, but they had to cut off his tail... >_< But I think it's kinda funny how they're both named Lucky.

Anyways, sorry to hear about that. It's always sad whenever a dog dies, and for me, even more saddening when you have to take them in and they put him/her to sleep.
