My 17 yr old daughter hurt her wrist last week at cheer practice...She didn't break it but did pull the ligaments so doc put her in a cast to immobilize it for 2 weeks. My dh took her to the dr and didn't know to ask for a waterproof cast. Now she's stuck with a cast, but leaving for cheer camp at Great Wolf Lodge on Monday :headache:. Any ideas for keeping it dry so she can enjoy the waterpark or should she just plan on lounging poolside? Thankfully she gets it removed the day before we leave for Disney!

It was either Target or Walmart (don't remember) but I saw special sock-type things in the pharmacy area that are designed to put over casts to keep them dry. I wasn't looking for that specifically so didn't look very closely, it just caught my eye. The one I remember showed an arm cast though.

Good luck!

you may need to go to a medical supply store at the hospital area but they sell boots that go over the cast that are waterproof! hope she has fun!

I bought my sons first cast cover at the pharmacy area of the grocery store. I think the second one (first one got smelly) at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure they will let her do much even with the cover - GWL seems to have pretty strict policies.
