Hello, I noticed that there are a few Indiana members on this board, and I could use some advice.

My DH and I are flying in on Thursday for a wedding this weekend, and have no idea how to entertain ourselves during the 3 days we will be there. We are staying at the wedding site in Nashville at the Overlook Lodge at Salt Creek Golf Resort, but neither of us golf! We have a rental car and are up for anything... just not sure if there are any "must sees"?

Thanks!

There are a few things to see and do in Indianapolis. You could go visit the Motor Speedway Museum, The Children's Museum (even great for adults) or the Zoo. The Children's Museum often has a traveling exhibit there. A few years ago it was a Norman Rockwell exhibit. It was really cool. I know they museum has a website. Just search for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis.

However with you being down in Nashville it might be better for you to go visit Brown County State Park or even hop over to Bloomington and wander around downtown. I went to college in Bloomington and there's a lot of great shops and things and it's even great to wander around the Indiana University campus. Oh, there's also a winery outside of Bloomington called Oliver Winery (it's about 10 minutes north) that makes really good wine. We buy a lot of it!

Hope this helps!!!

It's been almost 10 years since I haven't had any kids, so I am going to have to think about this one! I was all ready to tell you lots to do with kids!:rotfl2:

If you are outdoors people, Brown County is beautiful. You will be very close to Brown County State Park. I've been hiking there. There is also mountain biking, but I don't know if you can rent bikes. The town of Nashville is quaint. I think it has gotten somewhat touristy in recent years, but it is still fun to walk around for an afternoon - think country stuff. It does have homemade candy and ice cream shops!

You won't be far from the Edinburgh Outlet mall. It isn't huge, but it has some good stuff.

Indianapolis will be about an hour and half north. In downtown there is an area called White River State Park that has a lot - the zoo, our state museum, Eiteljorg (Native Americans) museum, NCAA headquarters, and walking areas. There are a lot of good restaurants downtown.

I don't think Oliver Winery would be more than an hour away. You would probably drive on some back roads to get there. It is on Highway 37. For Indiana, it is a nice winery.

Bloomington is not far from Nashville. This is home to IU. (Indiana University) It is a college town with lots of restaurants. I'm usually in and out for games so not sure what all there is to do there.

I'll think some more.

Have fun!
