Hi All ~ We are the VACATION family! But since we bought a permanent trailer and started reno's on the house, we haven't planned any trips away.

I've got a little 'cabin fever' happening so I booked Great Wolf Lodge for the end of the month!

I got a $159 rate for a king-sized bed, pull-out sofa, whirlpool IN THE ROOM, fireplace on waterpark level! The room looked AWESOME! I am thrilled!

My kids are beaming!

I need this! heeheehee

Blessings, Sandra

Sounds like a great deal! Weekend or weekday? Did you have to use a coupon code?

I booked a Sunday night with code NSUITE

That's an awesome rate! Where'd you get the code? Their website?
I might just have to look into this. ;)

Way to go Sandra :thumbsup2

we went twice in December. Once early December and then New Years (I don't even want to tell you what we paid). Listen, for what it is worth, take some lysol and spray the room down. Everyone in our party of 8 got sick with a bad viral cold after our stay. Might be in the water or on the pillows - who knows but we all think it was something at the hotel - tis the season for colds and flu.

But we love the GWL. Rumour has it, they are launching a "loyalty" card for regular visitors so we can earn discounts on things.

We went Jan 3rd with another family. I had gotton a corporate rate of $199 which was great considering the kids were still off school. But of course meant the place was quite busy. Armed with all my "dis" experience I figured I could handle it. I knew to avoid the 4pm room check in time. So around 4:45 we went to the front desk to find out that they had overbooked the hotel but would we mind being upgraded? We even managed to get our friends upgraded too!

It turned out to be quite a lucky trip for us. They forgot to charge us for our extra people in the room (yes, we did remind them and they said it was so nice of us to remind them that they were going to overlook it this time) and they offered us a second night in the upgraded suite at an even more reduced price. Plus, we ordered from the Hotel's pizza hut and when they made a mistake in our order-they gave us another pizza free.

Just a quick FYI which I'm sure you know from the disboards but there really are NO lineups at park opening. Hardly any in the last 30 minutes at night too.

We live near Peterborough. Do you think we could use the nlocal code without an issue???

Thank you

Riu Girl,

I don't know if this is too late and you have already booked but there is a new code out for the whole month of April, if you book during the week. It is "PREFERRED". I believe it is a rate of $149.00 for the Family Suite. I did not use this code as I received and email about it after returning from our trip last week.

We have stayed on the top floor of the family suite with balcony, and like that location. Have never tried the waterpark level.

Have fun! We haven't been since it first opened (paid $99) but would love to go back. I haven't wanted to pay $350/night so thanks for the info regarding the promo rates!

Thanks for the info. I have not booked yet (looking for mid-week last week of May) since I am leary of booking with the NLOCAL code since I am not form the Niagara region and don't know if I would be able to use this code or not. Perhaps the preferred code will work for May once we get getting closer to May. Right now it is just good for April.

Thanks again.

You may get an even better deal when May rolls around. We went last May and they had a special "birthday rate" to celebrate the G.W.L's Birthday. It was $139.00 per night and included $20.00 worth of arcade tokens and free putt putt golf for four.

For March break, our room was going for $499.00 on the website. I booked through Hotelclub.com and it came to $164.00 taxes in.( $149.00 plus taxes.)
I had never booked through a third party travel company before, but it worked out great.
I have never paid full price for our hotel stays.;)

Thanks for the info. Do you remember when GWL posted the May birthday special last year? Since I have no idea as to whether I can use the nlocal code or not, I might just wait and see if they offer another birthday special for May.

Sandra that is a great deal. We just had the same type room. Very nice. Bring water shoes to get back and forth from the room to the pool. They have a fridge in the room and a microwave. If you want to save money. If you don't mind spending it, the food isn't as bad as i've heard. The breakfast buffet is worth the price. The lunch and dinner buffet is a bit pricey. Enjoy your trip.

Trevor, I think SandraC has already taken the trip to GWL. I just posted on this thread since I am enquiring about codes that have been listed.

I will ask one more time please:

Has anyone used the NLOCAL code and if so, were you asked for ID at check-in? We do not live in the local area but wondering if I am able to use this code??

Any info. would be really appreciated.:goodvibes

I have not used he code your talking about, BUT I did use the code from my husbands work last weekend and they did ask for ID for the code that was use.. Not sure if that helps or not.. But Good luck.. Sarah
