I mean I REALLY hate cleaning. My house is so cluttered! It's finally driven me nuts enough to make a cleaning plan. We have too much stuff. Clothing alone will take me a week to sort. My ds was so kind to clean his room, but he piled all his toys in front of the closet! So now I have three laundry baskets filled with his clean clothes alone! I have to re-clean his room to put the clothes away! dd's room is a distaster! If we have a house fire she will die because she can not get out of her room! She started cleaning today [after I promised to cancel Christmas if she didn't clean] ....I say, "just make three piles of clothes and put them in the hall to sort. Pile 1; clothes too small and can give away. Pile 2; laundry. Pile 3; clean stuff that can be put away. Her room is still a mess, plus my hall is filled with her clothes! I just scrubed the kitchen floor and it's still a mess! I offered to pay for a completely new upstair bathroom [using a contractor] and dh is still procastinating about it! He needs to think about things WAY TOO LONG! All I need is a reasonably priced licenced contractor [with referenced]. I am overwhelmed! After having the summer off and still not getting the house organized...I have to return to work tomorrow. Did I mention I am overwhelmed?!?!?!?!? Thanks for letting me vent....Blessings, Sandra

Oh, now here's a topic I can relate to! I live with packrats, am none too organized myself, and my house is Clutter Central! My favorite cleaning is actually the bathroom :confused3 cause there's less clutter there and it's easier to make it shine than anywhere else. When I go at anyplace else in the house I can either just scrape the dust off the top of piles of stuff, or I can spend a long confusing time trying to put everything away before I actually get to cleaning... you know, I often end up on the Disboards in the middle of one of those fits of tidying when I get frustrated... hmm, maybe this is too much self-knowledge!

Thanks, Sandra, for inviting us to share cleaning woes.

I just finished going thru dd's clothing! WOW she has lots! She is growing so fast that new stuff doesn't fit. I have two laundry baskets of her stuff to be washed and one giant garage bag for hand-me-downs. My friends and I have a great system of exchanging our kids clothes....recycling at it's best! DD just got in, so we'll go over HOW TO DO YOUR OWN LAUNDRY again! She is good at doing laundry, she just NEVER puts it away! I'm going to have a tea and get back to it! S

hi :wave2: from Paris, Ontario. I think that you are in my house, but we just have two DDs. They are getting better in cleaning but I NEED CLEAN SWEEP!.May be if I am not on here it could get done. Nope. My job is 24 7. A mothers job is never done. theres no one else to do it. If I go far away for a holiday and will I come back to a new improved home. Oh wait, its just a dream :lmao:

I've come to accept that there never is a "right" time to clean. I work in a school so I have follow the school vacation/break time. Last year I said I'd use the school year to de-clutter the house. Did I do that?....NOPE! ds was in kindergarten so I only had 2.5 hours of cleaning time without kids and I used that to do groceries, plan our week, have a social life [I know what's important....heeheehee]. So then I said...I'll de-clutter in the summer when the kids are home! Did I do that?....NOPE! Now I'm saying that I'll de-clutter when the kids are in school...since ds will be in grade one, I'll have more time to clean. Do you think I'll actually do it? I am truly sick of my mess....but I choose to spend my time having fun instead. Perhaps my gravestone will say, "She wasn't a good housekeeper." HEEHEEHEE!

Oh Oh... I have the solution!! You just have to do what I did and MOVE :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: It was the best way I found to declutter the house!! I have 3 different charities that do clothing and house hold good pick ups on speed dial!! :lmao:

Now that we've moved I need dh to finish my basement for my daycare so I can have my living room/dining room and garage back from all the 'daycare stuff' I have stored there!! He 'says' he'll be done by October :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ask me in 6 weeks if he's done and I bet the answer will be a great big NO!! :rotfl2:

If you don't want to move then you could always pretend you are!! ;)

You need to go to www.flylady.com, it has changed my cleaning habits by giving me easy routines to take care of things 15 minutes at a time. It is completely free and I swear by it.

WOW thanks for her name! Only problem I can see now is actually taking the time to read her site :laundy:

Anyone else think that she figures a CLEAN SINK is a direct - get - outta jail card that leads to heaven? :lmao: She sure wouldn't like mine :goodvibes

I totally understand DH leaves stuff everywhere, he never puts anything back and its getting worse now the we have Benjamin. When I came home from the hospital there was piles of stuff in parts of the house that he never even really goes into! ( and I was in there for less than 2 days!) I feel like once Ben goes to bed at night I spend like 20-30 minutes taking a layer of stuff off the house and it still it has more. I just looked down under the computer table and DH has left me one sock on the floor.. Where the other is I dont know... And the laundry hamper is about 3 feet away...

I took your advice!

I'm moving!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Found out yesterday that I could move into the two bedroom just upstairs from me! But of course, had to go there last night and clean the bathroom and kitchen due to the fact they retiled everything and the worker left a big mess! But that's easy cleaning!

It's so nice and clean! Let's hope we can keep it that way!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Congrats Janet - so when do you move??

See.. I knew my moving plan was a good one :lmao:

I too hate cleaning... but here's what I do... I put Aerosmith's Get a Grip cd in, turn it up loud and just giv'er. If I'm not done by the end of the cd, it doesn't need to get done.

Hey I like that idea of turning up the tunes...My kids insist it must be disney tunes though!! I run a home daycare and to get the kids to help me with music blasting!! The tiddy up song stopped working long ago. My Dh (I love him like crazy) likes to do a clean out twice a year. I'm the pack rat-so I'm not allowed to be home when he cleans. I bought a bunch of rubbermaid containers and pack away seasonal clothes. Sometimes they don't get put away until the season is over though. I can't stand cleaning-but I have to because of my daycare(I can't wait to go to SSR!!!!)

I too hate cleaning.

We had to move three weeks ago and we had a real cleaning job. We had to clean the old house plus the new one. The new one looked like it had never seen water or soap! We spent a week scrubbing our brains out and it still resembles the haunted mansion more than a livable house.

The only way we could do our tasks was to promise ourselves a treat for doing the cleaning. Now that we finished we are going to go out to eat every day next week!

I know it sounds corny but if you do whistle while you work the time does go faster.

I've already started!

I have until the 15th of September before the workers show up to start redo my old place! It's move whatever I can before we head to WDW on Friday, and then the rest when we return on the 4th!

Fun WOW!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
