Just happened upon this today while looking for some stuff for MLK.

http://www.kiddyhouse.com/Holidays/MLK/MLK.html
(found some stuff that even my Kindergarten kid could comprehend).

I think you can search other holidays here as well.

Also--in my search found this:
http://www.eduref.org/

Seems that they have loads of stuff to help with curriculum--various topics. I didn't look through enough to see if it is comprehensive, but clicked around and accessed lesson plans for various topics that can be printed off. Seems to be FREE!

This is great information, thanks for posting the links! I don't homeschool but I am a lurker on your HS thread b/c you guys always provide great information for learning resources! I'm glad you posted this info in a separate thread b/c the HS thread is huge and I probably would have missed it.

Thanks!

It was nice going through those sites again. I forgot I had a bunch of them (I need to organize a little better).

Hope you guys find some of these sites helpful. :)

ETA- www.brainquest.com (not free, but highly recommended! Lots of fun!)

ETA II- http://www.homeschoolingonashoestring.com/educatordiscount.html (lots of good stuff!)

OceanAnnie you are like the homeschooling link goddess :worship: :worship:

:) LOL! :rotfl:

More like the research queen! I should start a thread on websites that make life easier for homeschooling moms. I probably have just as many of those. :)

Cooking, cleaning, organizning. You name it. :)

Oh, I am sooo proud! I have two, yes TWO that OceanAnnie didn't list. :cool1: (As an aside, how do you keep all of your links organized so you can find what you are looking for? I had an online math game site that I was going to have DD do the other day, but I couldn't find it for the life of me!)

Okay, my two favs are

www.learningpage.com you have to sign up, but it is free

www.starfall.com this one is awesome for reading and phonics. My little boy (5) asks to do that one like every day.

I also really like enchanted learning, dltk-kids and edhelper though to get all the stuff on enchanted learning and ed helper, it is about $20 a year. I have done a memebership to both of them in the past but really don't feel I get my money's worth at this point because there is so much out there for free.
