My dd14 said some people at school voted for her for "homecoming" court jester.......I am curious ( way miore than Her LOL) what it is?
Anyone ever hear of this before? ----- any info would be great!

I believe that is the equivalent of being vote as the "class clown" - beyond a yearbook photo, I don't think the position has very many duties.

mostly its the most entertaining and funny person. sometimes not a very savory title but mostly to be taken in good homor.

I have no idea! :confused3 I even googled it to no avial. PLEASE let us know what it is! Inquiring disers want to know!

thanks for replys.....i have no idea and niether does DD - I am hoping it is not a " class clown" type thing. Thats what i was afraid of. this is her first year in highschool. I Dont need a costume.......we have gotten her a very pretty semi-formal blue dress :)

thanks any ways for trying to help.

I've never heard of this. The only thing I can think of is that it's a class clown type thing -- it doesn't sound very flattering. Maybe it's worth a call to the homecoming sponsor?

Maybe try asking on the Community Board here. You may get more answers.

In our area it is nothing more then class clown. It always seemed that the only kids that won this title didn't do that well in school and mostly goofed off. Hopefully this isn't the case with your DD! There is no costume involved here. Just an extra pic in the yearbook.

Why the :sad2: ? I said I hoped it wasn't what your school meant by it. It IS what our school means when they name someone Court Jester. You asked if anyone knows what it means. That is what it means in our area. Why the look? It might not mean that in your area so don't be so sad yet!! LOL!

At my high school it was our class clown. The guy that got it our senior year was a bad student or anything, he was just a lot of fun and always made people laugh. I think he was introduced at the homecoming football game but nothing was mentioned about him at the actual Dance. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you!

We didn't have a jester, but I can tell you that the people who were voted "class clown" or "funniest" were not just goof offs. Alot of time they were just very well liked people that everyone had fun talking to. It just means your daughter is probably creative and charming. :thumbsup2

I agree with branv...if it's something the kids vote on, it's probably because she's well liked and humorous. There's probably one or two per class. You can always ask the school!

I agree. My best friend was the class clown some 25 years ago in High School and she grew up to be a very talented and successful writer. She is still making her friends laugh, plus she earns a living making other people laugh. :)

OP, I hope your DD has fun at her homecoming! :)
