My sister's step daughter needs a new seat. She is with my sister and her husband most of the time. She is turning 4 next week and is 40 pounds. Not sure exactly how tall but tall for her age. I have told her that 5 point to 6 yrs is what I did but she seems to be leaning toward a high back because the mom is using one and they would like consistency .....

So, if she insists on a highback booster for the 4 yr old, I'd like to help them find the safest one possible.

Are there any 5 points that go to 60 pounds that aren't a $250 Britax?

Sure there are! An affordable seat that harnesses to 65 lbs, and also has a booster mode (up to 100 lbs) is the Graco Nautilus. Very nicely priced also. HTH

This is exactly what I am looking for!!!

DGS is 37 lbs at 2 1/2 and no way am I giving up the 5 -point nor do I want to spend 250.00

THANKS

Another vote for the Graco Nautilus, here !! It was hard to install, but once it was in - was going nowhere - definitely the best installed car seat we've had !! My son is 6, and hovering around 42 pounds - I just love having him in a 5 point harness still ! :)

This seat looks great - I wish I had it for my girls when they were younger! Thanks for taking the time to respond/help.

I have sent her the link to the pink one at Walmart, it looks like they have the best price.
