...I hope you are all using the 20-20-20 rule. I just heard a really eye-opening
radio show on eye health that advocated, at a bare minimum, looking 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds every 20 minutes.
Apparently due to our hunter/gatherer past, our eyes are naturally designed for distant sight and the muscles in our eyes essentially are in flex while we are reading or doing closer work on the computer. The backlighting on our electronic devices brings a higher risk to our eyes due to glare than does regular print reading. Also, the fact that we are less inclined to blink while reading from a screen can compound the fatigue our eyes feel as well as drying them out.
So, I am here to promote the 20-20-20 rule...and this brings me to the end of my P.S.A.
