I overheard someone talking about losing weight with Herbalife. Does anyone know anything about this or have tried it?? Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

They will try to tell you that those shakes will fill you up and replace your b-fast and lunch, but they don't. I didn't lose weight because I needed to eat! I can't function if I am starving.

Dawn

I've been drinking the shakes off & on for a few months, and they've worked pretty well. I only have one for breakfast, there's no way I can replace lunch as well, but I stay full for the morning. I do generally have a piece of fruit as well. I've lost 20 pounds the past few months, but that's not just due to having a shake - I exercise and eat well otherwise. But I do think the shake fits in well.

They have lots of recipes, so to speak, different things to add to the shake that are good. Definitely blend the stuff with ice - I don't think it tastes very good to just mix it with milk.

I looked all over the internet for info about it - really the only negative things I found were more about getting into it as a distributor. The product mentions were generally pretty positive. I think it depends on the distributor - I just got mine at a little local shop. They're very low-pressure. I have seen some places recommend loads and loads of different supplements - that gets really expensive and I have no idea if they work well at all.

I'd say it's worth a try.

Do you think you still would have lost the same amount of weight if you used any soy protein shakes?? Herbalife is expensive. I was thinking about just going to GNC and picking something up.

Yeah, actually I think the weight loss was just from doing the regular weight loss stuff, ya know? The shakes weren't any magic bullet or anything. I like them because they're convenient and pretty filling and make it easier to get in a serving of milk & extra protein. I'll probably continue to use them a few times a week, but I definitely will still do all the other things too.

Like I mentioned before, the place where I get mine is actually a little shop. I guess some distributors do this. But you can go in and just get a shake and a cup of their green tea for $5. If you can do that, maybe try that for a few days and see if you like it, then you can buy the mix. My place has a menu of 40 something different flavors, so that's kind of fun.

But no - I don't think this is the main reason I lost weight. I'll take the credit for that, after running my butt off on the treadmill! :thumbsup2

I did Herbalife when it still included ephedra-eek-and had moderately successful results. I did the shake at breakfast and dinner. They did fill me up, but I really and truly missed chewing things. I was addicted to gum when I was on that one.

Once I started eating food again, just like everything else, I gained back all the weight I lost. I stuck to the diet for about 6 months and lost about 20 lbs. That isn't amazing since I have over a hundred to lose.
