Hey everyone...great news!!! I'm getting married next year!! I am so excited....

Anyways, we both have decided to get married on a beach somewhere. I've been to Hawaii, he's been to California - otherwise, we have never really been to an "all-inclusive" resort of anykind. I was hoping that the great people here could give me some ideas about where to go for the ideal beach side wedding. Not really picky - just looking for a nice resort (clean and in a nice area) with a nice ocean backdrop. Any ideas?

Not really sure about the budget, but we would like to make it affordable for at least some of our friends to come.

Oh, and what would also be nice is to have a resort that has nearby sister resorts so we can resort "hop" to all the restaurants, but this isn't a necessity.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks in advance!! Jo:banana:

I had my honeymoon in Bali and loved it. It is so gorgeous but so far! I am a world traveller - been to several countries and islands and Bali is by far my favourite!

CONGRATS, Jo!   Awesome news! I don't have any suggestions, but I know when friends were looking, some countries were more "difficult" than others, and hidden costs like having the documents translated into English, etc. So just make sure you do your research. :)

We are actually going to get "married" here first, signing official documents so that we won't have the problems with the documents when we get back. We are pretty much doing a "renewal of the vows" wherever we go just to save on costs and paperwork. We were suggested this by many people, but to us, it will still be our official ceremony.

:goodvibes I agree, less hassles somewhere else means more enjoyable for all. Very cool! How about the Mayan Riviera, south of Cancun?

Happy Planning!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

In 2002, I looked into a vow renewal at the www.riu.com resorts in the Mayan Riviera. They offer different packages. We only stayed at this RIU complex once (late 2002), but from what I remember the service was A+. The food was also outstanding in my opinion. We stayed at one of the RIUs in this complex but had full access (excepy dinner) at two others, which was nice.

Shows were good, Food A+, beach was great in 2002 (not so wide now due to hurricanes a couple years ago but still nice, amazing white sand), staff great, cleanliness of grouds, pulbic areas, rooms A+.

Tons of great reviews/pics for the RIUs in the mayan riv can be found on www.tripadvisor.com. Also numerous pics on the RIU web site.

Hapy planning.

The Couples resorts in Jamaica are outstanding. If you want something closer I suggest Excellence Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! Congrats!
