OT - Help Needed. Van Sneakers?- UPDATE

Hi - hoping someone out there knows what Van Sneakers are. Our office has sponosered four single parent families for Christmas. One of the teenage girls is asking for Van sneakers - first question - what are they? Second question - where do I find them! Any help would be great we are heading out in a few hours to do all of the shopping.

Try this website for information on them but you will have to call your local shoe stores or sports stores to see if they carry them. A surfing/skate board shop will for sure.

Hi 'Van' is the band name... I'll have a quick search and see if I can find you a picture... don't know what stores you have over there, but here I would go to 'Free Spirit'... you need somewhere that stocks 'animal' or the skateboard type clothing...

Wow - that was quick. Thanks so much. We have a lot of the big box stores but not so many speciality stores. We do have skatebaord/ski stores. Would you find them at Sports Chek I wonder.

Vans are great shoes, very durable. I'm wearing a pair I bought 4 or 5 years ago right now... this lucky young lady will get very good use of them I'm sure.

Just ask the clerk they will help you pick the right colour as most of the kids working there are not that much older! Brown ones with a tiny bit of pink is ok but NO all pink for 14 as apparently according to my kids it is not cool. I have also seen white with green a lot too! I think all black is getting a little old. They have them at sportchek here but we always buy ours from an outlet seller at a store close to our place. We can get the same pair for 50% cheaper there including those overpriced Pumas lol.

The black and white check are the most popular. Which more than likely is what she wants. West 49 might have them. If you have Stance they have them too. Boathouse too. I

Hey all - I picked up a pair last nite at Sport Chek. They are black with pink. Selection wasn't the greatest - but I asked the young sales person and he picked out that pair.

My daughter is 13 and she has to have black ones with maybe a little blue or pink on them...Then she goes to "Zoomies" and gets checkered (red and black or pink and black) shoe laces for them. In her middle school alot of the girls wear them.

I have 2 daughters (11 and 13) who both wear Vans. They come in a skateboard type shoe which I've seen at Shoe Company and Sportcheck. Vans also make a sneaker type shoe (without laces) which my daughters want for Christmas, I was able to find find them at West49 and Boathouse. I'm not sure if you have these stores in your area.

Just an update - I was able to get the Vans sneakers for the 14 year old girl along with alot of other stuff. Our office sponsored four single parent families. We had $500 to spend on each family. We dropped off the presents yesterday to the Single Parents Association. Let me tell you - it totally made my Christmas. it has made me appreciate everything that I have. I realize that I am very fortunate and am very grateful.
