I recently bought 4 portable dvd players to use on our trip down to Florida. We are driving from RI. Anyway, I was wondering the best kind of headphones to use on kids....are ear buds good...or regular headphones...wondering what everyone else has used.

Well for young kids regular headphones are much better. Earbuds can be irritating for little ones and they most likely won't keep them in. You can find headphones at Wal-Mart, Target, etc that are made specifically for toddlers/kids.

I would have to agree with the headphones as the listening apparatus of choice. DD can not stand earbuds. If they are small enough they aren't comfortable. If they are 'standard' size they are too large and hurt her ears.

That being said, I see in your siggy that some of the kids are teens/tweens and they may actually prefer the earbuds to the headphones.

With the younger kids go with headphones but with the older ones they probably want ear buds.

If they currently have some type of music player you can take your hint from that. If they do not have a music player you might just ask them -- unless of course this is a surprise in which asking won't work.

Wishing you the best!
