OT--has anyone taken VIA lately?

I am planning on taking ds to Ottawa this summer on the train. I was wondering if someone has been on the train lately if you could tell me if in economy class they have little tables at the seats.

The seats at the very end of each car can be turned around and a table installed. Sometimes they are already in place and sometimes you have to ask. But they are there to be used.

I remember as a child travelling with my family and there being seats that could be turned towards each other and a table set up in the middle....are these what you are referring to?

It would be an awkward 8 hours without at least a small place to rest a drink and share a board game
