Here's a bit of history:

October 2003 we lost our greyhound

November 2003 DH, 2 DS & I went to "look" at puppies - no buying one I said. I guess I didn't listen to myself becuase I was the first one to pick up a puppy and ask to buy her. We named her Shadow (Bear and the Big Blue House). She's a black lab (hi Murphy:wave2: ).

March 2004 we lost our whippet

September 18 DH has to work so I tell our 2 DS "Mommy needs to get out of the house, let's go look at some animals, no buying though!" :rolleyes1 Guess I didn't listen to myself again. We saw an 8 week old male yellow lab and  . Hey kids, let's call dad and see if we can have a puppy!

So ... we now have 2 lab puppies, one black female and one yellow male. His name is Simba (Lion King).

No more looking at puppies for me!!

Really though, I did it for Shadow, she needed a friend to play with. ::yes::

If anyone believes that, I have a bridge to sell them! It's a little known fact that Labs brainwash their people. "They" reproduce and the little buggers are sooooo cute we can't help ourselves so we adopt more and more of them! Case in point...a urologist I know has 18....yes, you read that right, 18! Only a few are house dogs, but most of them live in a community kennel on his property. Which brings me to my next point.

They eventually brainwash the humans and take over the household....they start out so innocently, but eventually the humans are eating kibble out of their bowls and sitting on the floor to watch TV while the dogs are spread out all over the couches!

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Congrats Michelle and family! I know Simba and Shadow will bring you lots of sloppy kisses and love! ::yes::

Congrats on the new puppy

Chloe keeps telling me she wants to get another dog. I don't think I could handle another puppy................(we have a golden retriever, lots of hair)

I am the same way! My husband is in the military and he is always worried when he comes home from a long trip what I have adopted into the house. It is really funny. He knows that if we had some acreage we would have about 5 or 6 dogs. I love dogs. I was horrified to see down here in New Orleans pending the hurricane people had just set their dogs free because they couldnt take them with them or whatever. As we are driving- I should say sitting in our car because traffic was so bad there was a field with dogs and puppies in it. I wanted to load my truck up but we didnt have room. I just dont understand people.

Congrats on your new addition! Labs are some of the best natured dogs. We had one in the past. My kids have been begging for a puppy. I've been very close into breaking down and getting them one. Maybe for Christmas!
