Does anyone know of a good message board and/or podcast for Hawaii? I have been spoiled rotten by the disboards and the podcast. I have looked for something comparable for Hawaii and have failed miserably. The best thing I have come across are the forums on tripadvisor.

You don't realize how great the dis podcast is until you start comparing it to other podcasts out there. Not only is it full of useful information, it is so darn entertaining! :thumbsup2

I'm headed to Maui on May 9th and would like to feed my vacation obsession a little more. :surfweb: I'm sad to miss the podcast cruise, but I hope maybe I can partake next time.....

Thanks in advance!

I also need a good message board for some other places we'll be travelling to! Some place that gives DIS-like information for places like San Antonio, New York, etc. We are very spoiled here on the DIS - when we need to travel to other places, we need someone to tell us when the crowds are big and where we should eat!

We spent 12 days at the four seasons in Maui back in October

We did Cruiser Phil bike tour up and down Mt. Haleakala for the sunrise

We did the Kai Kanani tour for snorkeling and it was excellent

We did the Old Lahaina Luau.

The drinks were strong and we wished we didnt drive to lahaina so we could have drank and enjoyed ourselves. Lahaina is a fun town for shopping and restaurants/bars.

Get a convertible with GPS so you can enjoy the sights

Mama's Fish house was amazing! it was worth all the hype

we are actually thinking of going next year for 2 weeks...always wanted to go especially my surfer daughter LOL!! I too have been looking around for info as well:thumbsup2

We brought our laptop with us to Maui, with regards to the restaurants the reviews on trip advisor we found to be pretty accurate.

808talk.com I think it is. The Grand Wailea has a really cool Botero exhibit along with some other modern artists including original Worhols. You don't have to do the morning coaster bike to enjoy the volcano, cause you have to be up very early and it is very cold at the top.
There is a golf course where the club house was designed by frank lloyd wright that is cool to see. There are a lot of beaches, you'll wanna rental car. Lahaina is great for boutique shopping.

there is a great little burger joint that I can't remember the name of that is off the beat and path, johny's or teddy's or freddies... something like that

depending how long you are staying you also might wanna take a ferry to one of the other islands

I have used a couple in the past for other trips.....Trip Advisor for my month in London and weekend outings.....I have not used it for Hawaii but here is a link...

I have used this one for cruises other than Disney and have found it very helpful particularly when we cruised to Europe. The destination section is good for day trip info etc.

Here is the Hawaii forum link...

A lot of these have residence that contribute to them so you can get some local knowledge.
