What are your girls favorite ideas? Last night I found out that my girls need 10 plus for each DD (I have 3 in GS) for something this weekend. Our other troop (we just moved this summer)always did these during meetings so I am new to coming up with ideas on my own.

They did give us a paper with some ideas but I am clueless and I figure everyone else in the troops will do those. Do you put the activity on the back or just your troop numbers? The ones my older DDs have, have nothing on the backs of them.

Also do they have to have a pin? One idea was a braclet but I never saw those before and didn't want to go against what others do.

I am trying hard to help my girls fit in and meet new friends so I want to impress a little. KWIM

TIA

We did a friendship bead bracelet one time. I thought that worked out well. Last year we did parrots made out of clothes pins. We were low on time so we didn't paint the clothes pins, but we glued colored feathers on the back, googly eyes and drew little feet and a beak on it. You could put the troop number on the front or back. They didn't need a pin since they could attach on the clothes just by clipping them on. I think that was the cutest one we ever did. :)

we only do pins.. We make over 100 a year, My best ideas come from ebay. people sell the kits there but you can get great ideas.
I usually do mine in the small plastic bags.

Our favorite idea was making a girl scout cookie into a pin.

We took the Trefoil (shortbread cookie) and wrote our troop number on the back and glued a pin to it. Then we painted the whole cookie with Mod Podge, which is a decoupage glue/sealer available at any craft store. It's a clear sealer that makes the cookie very hard and shiny. These came out very cute.

Of course, it only works if you still have leftover girl scout cookies! :goodvibes

Our girls usually made swaps when they went to camp or another function like that. Will you be going to a function to exchange swaps? If so, what is the theme?

One year the theme was Toyland, so DD took a cheap puzzle, painted all the pieces the color of her vest, green at the time, and then had her troop number put on them. She glued a pin to the back so they girls could wear them. They came out cute.
