OT- generic diapers, anyone used them

Has anyone had any luck with store brand diapers or parent's choice diapers. I have been using pampers, but would love to spend less on a decent brand. Huggies are out and at our Walmart, pampers and luv's are the same price. So I was just wondering how the store brands hold up. Thanks!

We had good luck with the Berkley and Jenson dipes from BJ's wholesale.

Before we used those, we used White Cloud brand from Walmart. I know some people have had issues with them, but the only time we had any problems with leaks was when we needed to move up a size. They tended to run a size different (size 2 brand name = size 3 White cloud). Of course, since ds is almost 5, and I stopped using the WC around age 2-1/2 with him, I am not positive if they still make these.

We are big fans of the target brand. 14.00 for around 100, we have never had any problems.

Costco sent us a sample of the kirkland brand and I liked those better than pampers. But we don't have a costco card so we haven't bought a box yet. We may get a card soon though!

Ditto on the Berkeley & Jensen (BJs) diapers and wipes when the kids were small, up to maybe size 3. The leaking problems started and we switched to Huggies diapers, and had no more problems. We still use the BJs wipes for hands when traveling because of the great packaging.

I used the Target generics, and they were fine. They didn't seem to work well with little babies, but they were fine when my babies were older (about a year old or so).

FYI, Pampers and Luvs are made by the same company. I found the Luvs and the lower end Pampers to be similar.

What works well seems to depend on the child. I couldn't stand Huggies with my first child, but they were the best with my second (both girls).

it's been a few years since I bought diapers, so this may be out of date info, but I used a lot of store brand. at walmart, I loved the white cloud, hated the other house brand.

I used both target's and sam's club house brand, they were the exact same diapers. didn't have a costco yet so can't compare those.

One huge benefit for us was not only the cost savings, but the house brand diapers were unscented. I could not use Pampers and Luvs because of the strong fragrance, both DD's broke out in a rash with these. Huggies were OK but pricey.

I use(d) Target brand with both my son and my daughter. $13.79 for a box, never had any problems with them. I can't believe how much Huggies and Pampers are, ridiculous! We've also tried the Costco's "deluxe" diapers and they were really nice. Since I pratically live at Target though, it's just easier for me to use Target brand.

I use the target brand and the wal mart brand. The only time i got pampers or luvs was if i had a coupon.NEVER have had a problem with the store brands before.

I have used the Little Tikes Brand. They are available at Big Lots Stores. They are very good diapers. Never had a leak. I also use the store brand from ALDI. very good also. NO leaks from either. I buy the brand names when they are on sale and I have coupons. It does seem crazy what they charge . They just end up in the garbage anyways.

We've been using the Sam's Club brand since Jonah went into size 3. He's now in Size 5 now and we've had no problems whatsoever. We had problems with Luv's and Huggies, Pampers were great for us.

We're BIG into using generics! White Cloud & Target brand are both similar. They are cheaper made than Pampers or Huggies, but work just fine. the only leak problems we've had were at night when he had a bad "stinky". However, I LOVE the "supreme" diapers at Babies'R'Us & the diapers at BJ's. Never had a problem with either of them, and don't have the funky smell that Pampers have.

The BJ's brand worked great for both my DD's, we actually tried all of the name brands and I saw no difference when we switched...except in price!!!

I used mostly cloth, but when we did use sposies I prefered the Target store brand.

It took me three babies to find these, but they are excellent: Walgreens Premium Diapers. DD was in Huggies, but these work just as well. I have had nothing but bad luck with store brand diapers before, but the store actually had a diaper stuck up next to the bags so that you could see and feel it without having to buy. They are actually worth a special trip to Walgreens!

I liked Luvs and any store brand with velcro instead of tape.

My youngest was the queen of making popcorn out of any diaper not velcro.

I use the Publix Premium diapers. They have a basic one, but the premium have stretchy tabs that I like better. I also liked the Target ones, but they made my son break out. I used name brand with both my babies when they were under 3 months, but after that I found that the generic worked just fine. I have also used the generic from Toys R Us, and they were good too, I just don't get over there that often.

We used the Parents' Choice with DS2 and didn't have any problems. MIL had the White Cloud brand for him at her house, and they were fine also.

I used only Pampers for my girls' the first couple of months. But then we switched to generic brands. Luvs ALWAYS leaked for us. Huggies were too expensive. We go with WhiteCloud and they have always worked wonderfully. (and they used to be really cool with John Lennon art on them ....they don't have that on them anymore though). The Wal-mart store brand was a mess for us. The diapers kind of shredded into strips of spiderwebby cloth. Yuck!

We used the BJ's brand a lot, and we also used Especially for Baby (I think that's what they were called) from Babies 'R Us. Never had a problem with either brand.
